People aren't totally evil
As others aren't entirely good
As humans we have our flaws
Particularly if backed into a corner
We will most times come out swinging
And will do things others think are bad
Equally a person who is into villainy
May surprise and do a charitable act.

In behind all the busy streets of Toronto is this place. A lovely magical colourful place. Because some recognize this place from the Mercer Report. This is where he did his rants. I had to find this because of that.
Happy Window Wednesday
Happy Wall Wednesday
Is there a second life after death
and we also lived in the womb
also the previous realm
even if we can't believe it
In fact our soul is eternal energy
and death is not the end of a story
there is still a long way to go
to that which gives life
Our bodies on earth
only a means for the soul to survive in the earthly environment
with all the problems
all our behavior is good or bad
is a provision for the next journey
birth and death are only a terminal
or dimension gate
The soul is eternal energy
the body is only temporary
to enjoy the earth

Slowly I am processing my images from our trip in September. Along the coast of the Bay of Fundy, you will find several fishing boats. I love to check out the names given to the boats. There is usually a good story behind choosing a name and often I try to imagine why a certain name was chosen. Some are pretty obvious. I wish I could have spoken to the owner about why he chose this name But then I thought he may go on a long rant about it and then simply rave about his boat. He obviously takes good care of his boat. :).
I'm trying to reach her heart
even though it's very difficult
I tried to seduce his heart
women are a color full of mystery to some men
women are a storm
who can destroy the garden of my heart
I love the embers of his love
which makes my blood boil
and fulfill my dream
in a place I couldn't understand
".... anyone who plays with fire-burns his hands.
who plays love-can hurt him .... "

I Can See Brightness, Even In The Dark
I have seen the stars
But this time not on the sky
I have seen the moon
But this time not in the clouds
I have seen the sun
But this time not in daylight
I have seen light
But this time in twilight
And i can see brightness
Even in the dark

The voice sounded again in my brain
His voice was low
Half a whisper
But it was able to destroy all feelings
also my ego ....
one by one....
That voice resounded in my right brain ....
dragging into the mystical world without limits
leaving my left brain which is too calculating
"....on the thing where we started walking
we will encounter special things
and leaving incredible footprints...."
The chelo sound came again
in this year's pandemic season
and we will keep going
even though the heart feels upset
once again we will go beyond
as our predecessors did

We will continue to walk through the storm despite the fatigue
and let time pass with its rotation
it will shape ourselves to be stronger to withstand all attacks
in the darkness we are increasingly alert
in the light we will be wiser
"darkness will return to its original place and the stars will begin to shine in the dark ocean"
Happy New Year 2021

This world is of me
And I am of it
It makes me who I am
What I must be
The birds fly freely
They are my family
Teaching freedom
The bear and buffalo - my family
Teaching strength, endurance
The beaver and tortoise - my family
Teaching perseverance, patience
The wolf - my family
Teaching loyalty, friendship
The fox - my family
Teaching wisdom, insight
The air - my breath
The river - my blood
The grass - my bed
The starry night - my blanket
To remove any piece of this
Diminishes me
Suffocates me
Destroys me
When I fight
Not only for my people but my family
To die fighting is the way of my family
To resist servitude until my death is honorable
The time of resistance is now
To fight or be broken
To stand tall - not to crawl
The day my breath joins the wind will be a good day.

The Frozen Lakes
The lakes are frozen again.
They look like silver glass.
The cold winds from the north do blow
and another winter must pass.
The life that's under this wintry scene
conserves its energy.
It awaits the warmer approach of spring
to lift this canopy.
And when it feels the crackling ice
and the warmth of the sun
it will rise to the surface in its annual search
for food to overcome
the stillness it's known in the deepest water
that now seems to be done.
Life returns to the lakes again
as the ice does disappear.
The water comes alive again
and once again we hear
its life.

And here is the link to the blog on my website with a rant about the coming Flickr changes, an article about the D850 camera and entering the world of portrait photography.
In the Mahabharata story, Karna is known as Arjuna's main enemy. Both compete to always be the best. In the arts of archery and soldiering, they are said to have comparable abilities. But, I dare say, Karna is one level above his rival. It is not easy to defeat Karna in a battle. In Baratayudha, for example, Basudewa Krisna needed to use many tricks so that his beloved disciple Begawan Parashurama could be defeated by Arjuna. Karna was successfully killed. He was killed when he was unarmed, when all his knowledge suddenly disappeared from him. At the end of his death, just as Arjuna's Gandhiwa arrow was about to be released, Karna remembered a curse that his teacher, Parashurama, had uttered. "There will come a time when all your knowledge will be lost, when the most decisive moment in your life will be on the verge of death." The curse helped Arjuna win in a most decisive battle. The war in Kurusetra, which was originally held to uphold dharma (virtue) and eradicate evil, was instead covered in the stain of dishonesty. Betrayal after betrayal was designed to prevent Karna's victory. Something that great warrior characters like Krishna and Arjuna should not do. However, in the war that was already underway, all the tactics and tricks were usually used to achieve victory. Karna's archery skills, equipped with a shield attached to his body since birth, make his opponents afraid. Not a single weapon could injure his body. He was also gifted with Pashopati, a magical weapon given by God Indra. Just by saying one name, the magic weapon can complete its purpose. Any knight as much as possible avoids open war with Karna.
However great Karna was, during his life, he never received public recognition just because of the Putrasuta (charioteer's son), the lowest caste in the Vedic era. The caste system and values in society at that time had made Vrusali's husband defeated by a narrow view of life. Where the knowledge and abilities of someone other than a Brahmin or Kshatriya are considered errors. In this era where sand is crumbling like sand, social status has become the most powerful measuring tool to determine a person's honor. Display obscures capabilities. Form trumps content. The skin submerges the core. And finally someone will be respected, looked up to, liked, approached, even loved because of their origin, lineage and social status. Not because of knowledge and ability.
THE BLACK VULTURE
Aloof upon the day's immeasured dome,
He holds unshared the silence of the sky.
Far down his bleak, relentless eyes descry
The eagle's empire and the falcon's home --
Far down, the galleons of sunset roam;
His hazards on the sea of morning lie;
Serene, he hears the broken tempest sigh
Where cold sierras gleam like scattered foam.
And least of all he holds the human swarm --
Unwitting now that envious men prepare
To make their dream and its fulfillment one,
When, poised above the caldrons of the storm,
Their hearts, contemptuous of death, shall dare
His roads between the thunder and the sun.

Sleazes, dirty stinking sleazes.
Not so much of a deep and meaningful artistic image this, more just vocalising a point that's been driving me nuts for ages. Having become a follower of numerous 365 projects, both guys and gals, and those of a non-self portrait nature, I've noticed one glaringly obvious fact. Wherever there are female self portraiture artists, or people posting regular images of pretty ladies, out come the perverts.
Now if we're being blatantly honest, any guy on earth who's seen some of these shots (and I'd wager a fair few women too) will have had a look at some of these images and done the metaphorical whistling out loud and muttered something along the lines of 'hell, that's quite nice!' It's human nature. Doesn't matter which sex, if there's a photo of them looking a bit attractive, someone, somewhere will be appreciating it in a purely "yummy!" kinda fashion. The way Flickr peeps seem to vocalise this varies though. We get those who skirt all around the houses to avoid saying 'yummy,' we get those who are perhaps a little less guarded, either by their own personal confidence or the anonymity of the internet, or by the fact that they feel their work will speak for itself, and utter a more honest and flirtatious 'yummy.' Then we get the people out there who are blatantly just sleazes, who you just know spend their every waking hour surfing for porn and Flickr for images of women in a state of undress or allure. These are the same people idling quoting Celine Dion lyrics and the same catchphrase they've used all week (see above) to every damned girl they feel like leering over, as though doing so will somehow mystically enchant the photographer/model/girl into thinking they're actually alright instead of being sat behind their computer god knows where with their pants round their ankles making themselves Blind. Point being that in many cases these subjects or photographers are almost always people who tirelessly work at their images and the meaning behind them, working their asses off to take the shots that these people then use as a cheap way to get their rocks off. It's rude, and more than a little creepy.
I'm not trying to say that any one area of looking at photos of people in a voyeuristic fashion is more acceptable than any other, but the wealth of porn that seems to be apparent both here and online in general is at least basically designed to be viewed whilst doing your business. Many of the self portraitists I see being plagued by these comments and pervs are becoming friends via this site, and although I'd always steer well away from assuming its any of my business, I do feel a sense of protection and disgust for them. So for those of you out there who haven't got the subtle references in this spiel, go back and read again for clues, and good luck with keeping your stream pervert free! ;-)
I guess it comes down to the age old idea that you studied in class when learning about photography, or at least banged your head against when teaching yourself. We steer dangerously close to feminism, and perhaps how all guys shooting women, or looking at images of them are being exploitative. For me personally, I never felt intelligent enough to actually argue one side or the other there, more content that I knew it existed and that I remember the ideas every single time I look at or shoot a woman. It's probably not enough, but I feel less guilty and ignorant by at least knowing some things. The bit about it that I really resent is how the pervs of this world, and if we're being blunt, of Flickr are making it such an issue that in order to be accepted as a genuine viewer and commenter of *insert photographer here*'s images, you have to almost prove yourself, either by the words you say or the images you display. It's not the fault of the women/photographers who are like this, faced with such a barrage I'd be the same, I just resent the fact that by association as a man looking at pictures of women, I'm apparently a sleaze first until proven otherwise. So thank you Flickrpervs for making this website more difficult than it needs to be! ;-)
(Yes I am aware of the irony in ranting about this over a picture of some breasts...:-P)
(Note this image is actually my editing of someone else's photo, used with permission. In absence of access to a ladychest of my own, and knowing my own mancleavage isn't so pretty, a friend 'loaned' me hers. She wishes to remain anonymous, but thank you. You know who you are.)
forest fires like a creepy modern ghost. Intentional or unintentional, money or political goals. still it's a disaster that costs money to deal with. And we still want a green earth, an earth full of oxygen. Without pollution. and some of us use nature by destroying it for personal gain. We all still want the earth which is green green and green full of oxygen
forest fires are ghosts in the modern world .....

Wow!!!!!! WHat a well thought out composition. . . that combines key elements of complex architecture. . . principally a winding wall that contains windows, masonry, stone, arches, stairways, turrets, and, yes faces at, literally every turn. The effect is that the masonry tries to hold things together, provide passageways, bridges, stairs, and dwellings. . .but, at every turn, like I said, there is a suspicious face, or a mistrustful, or a wary one, looking out in all directions, as if the shelter itself was a false promise. . .and all that it really accomplished was to bring the dangerous (see faces) human elements into closer contact and thus ensure that there would be the very trouble that everyone had sought to avoid.

He doe’s come,
To face death,
with bated breath.
aficionados shout out loud,
Megalodon, Megalodon
And wonder if today, He will die.
The Sky is open, the Megalodon is out,
spies the Woman,
It will kill Him if it can.
With graceful movements She swings His cape
mighty This Megalodon has taken many love from womens.
and the Matadors sword want her heart, who has never been hurt
He was brave, He was strong,
Megalodon, Megalodon, they cry,
We know you will never die,in a game of love in the Sahara desert
the STRANGE SUN
Ever...
I once woke up from sleep ...
I opened the bedroom window ...
The strange sun laughed at me ...
the flag is fluttering ...
The ears are locked ...
can not be given understanding ...
his mouth as if he could call everyone in the world
for his sake ...
his eyes like a witch
as if it could change everyone's destiny ...
He looked at me ...
He laughed at me ...
He spelled me perfectly ...
Then I close my eyes ...
Ever...
Ever...
I woke up from my sleep...
I opened my bedroom window ...
The sun looks at me ..
My heart said
"Life is a struggle for something better"
and I can still control my fantasy and imagination ...

FLOOD ( Acrostic)
Filling waters in all sideways and byways
Leaking through all alleys and subways
Overflowing canals, rivers and bays
Overflowing streets, stations and houses
Driving people into despair and madness.

A sunset shot on a mobile phone might look good on said phone. But if I look at it on a screen, it looks worse than an impressionist painting. There's nothing I can do to undo that awful over-sharpness. And thank you. I have seen iPhone shots, it's always the same. I know a guy who works for Leica, and he seemed to have a better mobile phone (as far as photo quality goes), but it wasn't an iPhone. This sunset shot here is horrible. And I can only upload it as a post stamp (sizewise). If at all.
