What do we have here? It looks like someone took a Chinook RV off of a Toyota or Datsun chassis and put it on this 1984 Ford Ranger, and then covered its windows. Now it's for sale without an advertised price. Don't expect the Kelly Blue Book to tell you anything about a possible valuation for this strange beast.

The iconic Ranger spacecraft from my favourite film of last year, Interstellar, lovingly recreated in Lego.
Initially I was going to build the top using two 6x3 windows and then create some custom stickers for them. But I'm glad I didn't - using 100% Lego is always more satisfying!

Edited NASA image of a Ranger spacecraft used to explore the Moon in the 1960s.
Original caption: The Ranger fleet of spacecraft launched in the mid-sixties provided for the first time live television transmissions of the Moon from lunar orbit. These transmissions resolved surface features as small as 10 inches across and provided over 17,000 images of the lunar surface. These detailed photographs allowed scientists and engineers to study the Moon in greater detail than ever before thus allowing for the design of a spacecraft that would one day land men of Earth on its surface.

"The Ranger was the base trim option for Edsel in its first and second years as an automotive marque.
On the exterior, Rangers received chrome around the rear quarter panel cove molding. Two-tone paint was also optional. The main visual cue that makes it possible to tell the difference between most Rangers and the upmarket Pacer was the lack of stainless trim on the front doors and fenders.
A very rare, optional, Ranger-only door trim was available from dealers early in the model year to be used together with the Pacer fender trim."
Ensign Ranger ll strip-down. The hinge to the film compartment door had long since come adrift. Whilst solidly made, the hinge assembly is not really upto the job of handling the weight of the door. And it was riveted to the body, whereas most other components were screw fitted. The bellows have many pinhole leaks too, but the shutter is good. I would like to try and seal the bellows. They cannot be removed as they are fixed in place within the cast alloy bodywork.

I was greeted near my front door in Tucson when I arrived by this blooming Texas Ranger. Love the fringe on the petals and how drought tolerant they are. The blossoms are only about 1/2 inch across.
