Monster clouds above the Paso San Francisco between Argentina and Chile. Since the road is some 4700+ meters high, the clouds aren't that much above the surface.

Laguna Verde next to the international road between Chile and Argentina.
The lake takes on a strikingly green tinge from the salt.The place is more than 4000 meters high.
Next to the mountaineering sites of Nevado Tres Cruces and Ojos del Salado, the highest volcano on earth.
A hot spring and a small house are on the shore with a mountain guard on duty keeping radio contact with mountaineering parties during the season. Looking east towards Argentina.

Porsche 959 at the IAA 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Initially designed as a Group 4 rally car based on the concept of a 911 Carrera with four-wheel-drive, the 959 was later developed into a road legal supercar.
This particular 959 fitted for rally use was piloted by René Metge as the winning car of the 1986 Paris-Dakar Rally.
This set of the Lego racers series fascinated me because the base of the vehicle is remote controlled. After plying a while with the original I got bored and wanted to build something more realistic and interesting on top of the driving unit. Hence the base itself is quite thick the best thing I could come up with, was this rally car. The rally Dakar is an extreme event in the world of motor sport. I liked the old VW Tuareg which crossed the dunes rather successfully. Nevertheless, I wanted to include many or I dare say most of the parts from the original set. As I wanted to make a realistic car it really nice to see it been even driven by a more or less talented minifigure accompanied by his co-pilot who is navigating. :-) The two of them are taking up the challenge of the Lego Rally Dakar. The wheels are pretty small, therefore i changed the back ones for a bigger yellow pair. Unfortunately, the steering is often a bit too lash for a rally car. So its strengths are still on the tarmac. Focus when building was of course on stability while incoporating an aggressive, sportive line of Design. I am quite happy with the outcome of the front bumper, which is definitely one of the big characteristics of this unique car. Am 6. Januar wurde das Go für die 41. Auflage der Rallye Dakar 2019 gegeben; Side-by-Sides und UTVs fahren in 2 unterschiedlichen Klassen
Während der Rallye Dakar war jedem Race Touareg ein Service-Truck zugeordnet. Dieser wurde hier bei einer "Showfahrt" im Wolfsburger Allerpark abgelichtet.
