The moon reached closest point in its orbit of the Earth last night.

For people from India, this full moon (full moon during the month of Sharavna, fourth month in Indian calendar) has a special meaning; it is known as "Rakhi-Purnima" (the word Purnima stands for full moon). On this day, people celebrate "Raksha Bandhan" or "Rakhi Bandhan" to celebrate the special relationship of love and protection between brother and sister or in other words, between man and woman irrespective of any biological relationship.

it was pinocchio this raksha bandhan. I think sister says "Dont Lie"

in honor of raksha bandhan i made this for my brother... one of shannon levart's shiva buttons has been used for protection... red reinforces the protective element in the piece...

i KNOW the metals are shiny (thank goodness they will dirty up on their own)- i had to overnight this across the country yesterday and had no time to oxidize them... he leaves for overseas tomorrow and i needed him to have it before he left (and on the festival day)...

i did this for him a few years back, but wanted a real talisman this time...

thanks shannon for the most timely reminder -

Savi is tying a rakhi for Rohan, to wish him a happy and prosperous life. In return he must promise to take care of her and protect her.

...my best friend, confidante, greatest critic and personal philosopher...

To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. ~Clara Ortega
