Rajokt is the 4th largest city in the state of Gujarat, India. Rajkot is the 28th urban agglomeration in India, with a population more than 1.43 million as on 2008. Rajkot is ranked 22nd in The world's fastest growing cities and urban areas from 2006 to 2020.
One of Rajkot's few attractions is the Watson Museum, established in 1888 to commemorate Colonel John Watson, who served as the British political agent of Kathiawar and was a enthusiastic collector of local artefacts, most of which are now on display inside. Also included is this seated statue of Queen Victoria, who became empress of India in 1876. It was sculpted in marble by Alfred Gilbert and unveiled by Lord Curzon in 1897. She looks terribly severe and disdainful, does she not?

In the small park opposite the Watson Museum stands this small pavilion, which I believe was built as a band stand. Although it looks very old, I suspect it dates from the late 19th century.
