Well, I waited, but it didn't rain this week, so ... an old perfume bottle was my rain.
After I begged and borrowed my props, I took them out on a hot summer blue sky Oklahoma day, heat index over 100 today, and draped the yellow slicker over the patio table chair, set the rubber boots up in the slicker, leaned the umbrella against the chair, turned the sprinkler on to the patio and snap this shot, then HDR processed it and erased the patio chair legs, break out the rain gear on a rainy Oklahoma day. ;o)
Rainy Day Supplies:
Good music, a good book, chocolate, coffee and a chocolate chip muffin - who cares if it rains all day!

As seen here, with this pigeon, sitting in a tree after a sudden storm passed over. The rain drips off the branches as the bird no doubt sings that Carpenters songs in its head....

Nothing to do but frown...
It hasn't rained in a long time and the coming week no rain is predicted. So the theme Rainy Days is very difficult this week. Therefore I made something up in the studio to give a sense of staying home a have a nice cup of tea inside while the rain pours down against the window.

Japanese Pool, UC Botanical Garden. This week's FlickrFriday theme is: "Rainy Days And...." According to the garden's website, "When the Golden Gate International Exposition on Treasure Island closed in 1939, its Japanese exhibit was donated to the Garden on behalf of the Japanese government.... The pool was damaged in October 1962 when it rained 38 centimeters (15 in) in just three days. Boulders and lanterns were swept away by a raging Strawberry Creek." But the pool recovered, and today it is home to a thriving community of water lilies, newts, and frogs. P6165312.

This year the pollen has been especially bad due to the hot beginning to the summer that enticed the plants/trees to release it into the air early. So a rainy day is a good day to get out that glass cleaner and polish up a few things including the ceramic tiles on the hearth.

I was setting up a shot of tea, cookies and a book, I do sometimes read a book when it rains. But then I thought most of the time I would be shooting a still life or a macro in what used to be my living room and is now my studio. I shoot at night because it is easier to control the light. It just started to rain!
