this is an "artistic temple" built in chiang rai by an artist with a vision. it is a tourist site, not a working temple. spectacular, none-the-less.

Dirk van den Broek (born 1924) is a Dutch businessman, founder of the Samenwerkende Dirk van den Broek Bedrijven, one of the largest family-owned businesses in the Netherlands.
The company includes grocery stores, travel agencies, drug stores, liquor stores and various other ventures. Born in Amsterdam in 1924, Dirk van den Broek was the son of a farmer. Inspired by his mother who ran her own milk production and delivery operation from their farm, he and his wife Joukje started a small grocery store.
Anah Rais is a large Bidayuh (Land Dayak) village about 45 minutes from Kuching. The focal point of the village is a large and well-preserved traditional bamboo longhouse which is home to dozens of families. Our guided tour introduced us to the unique architectural and cultural features of the longhouse and the traditional farming lifestyle of the Bidayuh people.
