This is neat stuff if you are beyond auto mode in photography. To be ready for tomorrow I always check my memory cards and have spent a day or two charging batteries. Rather than random shooting tomorrow I need to get at least 6 good shots. Now you might think that is easy but a great photographer can take 2,000 and get one good shot. Old school photographers are used to paying a minimum of 2 bucks a piece if they developed their own film. That was with bulk loaders etc. So you would go to an event like East Bend with maybe three rolls of high speed film usually that was 108 shots unless you were backed by a newspaper and had a bulk roll and motor drive. You have spent 200 bucks if you sent them off or one long night in the dark room if you wanted your shots in the morning paper. Some of us in the group are learning photography as well as interested in Motocross. So there are sure shots and then creative shots. Photographers shooting racing can’t resist creative shots. So just within ten minutes I shot a quick example of creative vs standard. I only gave myself a quick shot. Not one where I could follow you across the track. Like I had a piece of jump I covered and couldn’t watch for a distance. I pick a focus point and hold the lock focus button even if I am on manual because Auto Focus is too slow for you guys. Shots can be called pan shots where the shutter speed is slow. The object is followed and it blurs the background. I nailed the plate on the car in a pan and blurred the woods. That car was doing 60 easy. The guys in the truck were shot with a higher shutter speed. The woods aren’t blurred as much. It was a pan shot. A photographer would say it was a hand held pan. Using a Tripod would be better but with a long lens it takes practice to do it hand held. The best can do a thing called zoom pan. It blurs the background and kind of sucks you into the photo. So I’ll mix things up a lot. I do know though that I am intentionally shooting with a higher depth of field because in a cropped shot if you are in the way background you might still want that shot even if you are a bit out of focus. You will learn to spot these things after awhile. There may be a test! And tomorrow when you are racing concentrate on the race and not hot dogging for the camera. After my initial experiment I will try to include as many as I can.
Someone gave me this photo and doesnt seem politically correct to me...:(
Im not sure if it is real or not, BUT consider it a conversation piece....

The somewhat mythological RAC guidelines. These intensely detailed and precise guidelines outline the new RAC identity (also by North) established in 1997.
Things I've come to know or stories I've heard:
— 250 copies were produced
— Printed four colour process with six spot colours and two varnishes
— The guidelines took one year to design and produce
— Without substantial experience in large corporate identity programmes (at the time), North simply 'winged it' throughout the identity development. Although:
— A copy of the BMW corporate design guidelines by Zintzmeyer & Lux acted as a primary design reference
— As an example of the rigour undertaken for the programme, tests of the hi-vis clothing designs were conducted by North on a hard shoulder of a highway in wet and windy, low visibility conditions
I'm saving this macro from a thesaurus page, to use soon on social media. Feel free to use this image if you need it.
My first time shooting race queens. It was funny to see how most of the male attendees were more interested in shooting the race queens than trying out the new Canon 1DmarkIV that day.

superheroesincolor: Idris Elba Front-runner To Play Roland Deschain In ‘The Dark Tower’ “Sony Pictures and Media Rights Capital may just have found their lead gunslinger for The Dark Tower, the Stephen King novel series set in a world woven with magic and revolving around the gunslinger Roland Deschain. I’m told that Idris Elba has emerged as the front-runner to play Deschain. He would square off against Matthew McConaughey, who’s in talks to play the villainous Man in Black. Nikolaj Arcel is directing… Sony will distribute what is planned to be the first in a series of Dark Tower movies. A complementary TV series is also being developed by MRC….” Keep reading at deadline The Dark Tower series tells the story of Roland Deschain, Mid-World’s last gunslinger, who is traveling southeast across Mid-World’s post-apocalyptic landscape, searching for the powerful but elusive magical edifice known as The Dark Tower. Located in the fey region of End-World, amid a sea of singing red roses, the Dark Tower is the nexus point of the time-space continuum. It is the heart of all worlds, but it is also under threat. Someone, or something, is using the evil technology of the Great Old Ones to destroy it. In Roland’s where and when, the world has already begun to move on. Time and direction are in drift, and the fabric of reality is fraying. However, things are about to get much worse. when a black man abuses his right
unduly with the white race fight
this is reverse racism alright
an excuse to vindicate himself
than he becomes a worst racist than white
using his color to dominate his might
yes at every stray remark he gets uptight
at the end of his dicolored soul
a terrorising tunnel
he sees no light
this is his agony
this is his unending plight
broken wings
ending his poetic flight
two wrongs dont make one right
This poem is dedicated to Mr Ray Lucero..without him I dont think I could have seen the world of racism as clearly as I do now..
even the word Reverse Racism.. is his coinage.. in a message to me this evening...

[ I think this is enough- just the comment with the picture. * ]
But other points need to be made somewhere.:
___
As we see, George Floyd was big and powerful. That’s all you need to ignite this rage.
It’s like a slave, who was found to be able to read. That, too, was seen as power. And that, too, was a death sentence.
___
The picture on this page supplies an important detail.:
This was before they had him on the ground.
It shows that when the officer was killing him, he was handcuffed.
___
And another thing i have not heard mentioned in the news.:
In the phone video, while the victim is being held down, a standing officer tells him to, ...”Get up and get in the car”.
The officer holding him down with his knee does not release him so that he can get up and get in the car.
After a pause, the order is repeated.: “Get up and get in the car.” He still can’t get up because he is being murdered.
It could be interpreted that the standing officer was trying to create a compliance issue.
He could say that the victim disobeyed an order. That may have worked if there hadn’t been a video of the whole thing.
Lawrence O’Donnelll said that the girl who shot the clear and steady video was threatened by the killer. O’Donnell praised her courage.
And we also can thank her for getting the timing on record.: After one of the other officers said that he was unresponsive, the killer held on for another 2 minutes and 53 seconds. it can only be concluded from that that the killer wanted to make sure he was dead.
A couple of hours later, former prosecutor, Glenn Kirschner, had another take on the officer who said, “Get up and get in the car”.
He said the the officer appeared to taunt the victim, because, of course, he could not get up.
Friday, 8:15 am PT-
A murder, surrounded by spectators.:
There are at least two citizen cameras.
There was a citizen watching the murder in progress who said, repeatedly, to the Police, ... “ Just let me take his pulse. “
There are also four Police body cameras. The footage has been withheld for seven days [ as of Sunday night, June 1, 2020 ].
I am hearing that it is difficult to determine that a person died from asphyxiation.
So a second question should be answered.: Did they break his neck.? That is easily determined.
Another point about kneeling on the victim’s neck.:
In the circumstances, the officer was kneeling with his left knee. If he had used his right knee, the left knee would have been on the tarmac and there would have been much less weight on the man’s neck.
But he used his left knee, so the right knee was pressing on the man’s back, and more of his weight was on the victims neck.
Both knees were restricting the breathing of George Floyd- the one on his neck and the one on his back.
Maybe not.
I have just seen a photo of the killer where he appears to have his right knee on the tarmac. That’s much better. That’s much less weight. But i have also just heard that the policemen with him, asked if they should turn him over because they felt no pulse. Turning a victim over in those circumstances would have been standard procedure, but the killer said no.
The killer kept up the pressure for almost 3 minutes more.
June 2, 2020-
i just saw a still from the wavering second video. It shows the killer with both knees on on the neck and back of the victim.
“ For us, everything. For the rest, THE LAW. “
Notes on the Death Penalty, applied for selling single cigarettes...
Or applied for running away from a Policemen who is acting crazy, and then acts crazier and shoots him in the back.
Does a bent policeman have a motivation to do something outlandish to someone who has been detained.?
Well, he gets the pleasure of the power play, of course, but there is more.:
He sets up temptation for an upset person to help him by ‘resisting arrest’. That cop is hoping for that, and that is an abuse of power.
It requires a high level of discipline, not to give the cop what he wants.
It can be hoped that this is explained and taught in the Police Academy.: “ It is tempting to pull this shit on the public. Don’t do it. “
There’s another issue.: white kids are not challenged with such high discipline because the police cut them a lot more slack.
White kids don’t get, ‘the talk’ from their parents as they grow out of childhood.
When George Floyd’s brother was interviewed by Lawrence O’Donnel last night ( thu. ), it came out that the brother worries every day since childhood that what finally did happen to George might some day happen to him.
So for the cops to taunt and press black men is particularly callus because they are already skittish about police. And they are not making it up.
There is another question about discipline- the discipline required to carefully hire people to be police that will Serve and Protect and not just circle the wagons when one of them steps over the line.
How is hiring taught at the Academy.?
It may be human nature to group and bond and make, ‘our own club’. But the slogan on the police car is “Protect and Serve”. This conflicts with ‘club’ mentality.
The Boys in the Club blew it last night ( Thursday, May 28, 2020.;
When the mysterious men in black uniforms started breaking the fence around the closed police station, the Police should have cooled it. Instead they moved to protect their turf [ their clubhouse !! ]. There is no “Protect and Serve” in that.
The escalation that followed is on them.
It started with a team of five or six men on the fence. In minutes of the Police reaction, hundreds got into the fray.
I’m sure that that sort of thing is taught in the Police Academy.: pick your battles.
All my talk about the Police Academy sounds hopeful and naive to me, because of what we’ve had was more of the same for 400 years.
Note on Rubber bullets-
Years ago i searched ‘rubber bullets’ and they had metal inside. This time around, they don’t seem to. It is not clear how hard the rubber is.
They do show ‘through shots’ to someone’s arm made by a rubber bullet. And you wouldn’t want one to hit your face. When the media mention rubber bullets, i think it is misleading.
Two nights ago, ( saturday ), reporter, Ali Velshi, was shot in the knee with a rubber ball. It appeared to hurt like a BB would hurt from a close shot to the leg, to a victim wearing Levis. The pain is memorable but it doesn’t penetrate. A shot to the face ( the eye ) is a different story.
The round is light, so an officer who shoots for the legs cannot really control where it goes, so he risks a shot to the face every time he fires a rubber ball.

The calm demeanor of the killer is telling. He even had his left hand in his pocket during this time. Why does he think he will get away with it.?
It calls up another occasion. This was the LA police in 1991.: When word came in to the Station that the beating of Rodney King was in progress, there was laughter in the station. No surprises here. They would get away with it.
But a “cam-corder” captured it and spoiled everything.
Even so, the venue for the trial was changed to.... wait for it..... ORANGE COUNTY.
For outlanders, Orange County is where the police always get off. ... and they did again even here, even with the video.
( in the future, the change of venue, itself, with be seen as a crime. )

* - a shorter version of this went up first on Facebook. I asked for feedback about keeping the subject line simple and letting the photo tell the story. No one answered the question. They just put up sad emoticons. So i went with it in simple form.

Photo from PBS video. It is from a security camera on a restaurant.
