One of the most incredible things that I found about burning man was the relationship between the people and the sun. Every evening, the second that the sun dipped below the crest of the mountains, cheers, horns, flame spurts, and all other types of noises erupted immediately from all around the playa. The summoning of the night, and the party.
Likewise, there was a daily event made of the sun's rising, as seen here. Slightly less noise being made, but that may be because there is a certian percentage of people that were actually sleeping at this time. In any case, the 2 sunrises that I witnessed were quite surreal - people warshiping, kneeling, stopping to think, hanging out... quite magical. It caught my breath.
