Bluebells are probably one of the best known wildflowers found in the British Isles, sometimes carpeting entire floors in early spring with brightly colored flowers, appearing April-May.
This European Gold Finch was the first of many birds taking advantage of our birdbath on what was a very hot day (35C.)
An unexpected and sneaky shot through the good old lounge window bird hide and the camera hastily held at knee level. We haven't seen a gold finch in the garden for a few years now. Earlier this day we also had a green finch! Lovely to see them both back in the neighbourhood again.
I'm testing this new bridge camera which has got a 24-600mm zoom lens without being as heavy as a DSLR with the equivalent lens. It's a good solution for trekking when one doesn't want to carry all one's gear. But are the pictures good too ? I always shoot in raw and use LR to process the photos. This picture was shot in Jpeg though to be able to use the zoom at its full length.

Picture was taken from Orlík Castle - was built at the end of the 14th century, it included a 22-metre high prismatic tower, half of its height was walled, half of it was hollow with a staircase. The castle was damaged during the Thirty Years' War and became a ruin during the 19th century. In 2014 a lookout tower was opened here.

What will it bring us? Not long and we will have a choice in Germany.
Red? Black? Yellow, or green?

Spring relaxation on the beach.
I don't like cyclists very much, but some bike always looks good in photos .... :-)
Not just a perfect sunrise, but a perfect piece of stying and design in the form of the ever beautiful E-Type Jaguar roadster from 1961.
I posted this after just having seen a few videos on youtube about the latest Jaguar concept car and associated marketing and rebranding that is going on. For me, (and many others it seems) it prompted a huge "what were they thinking?" reaction. It is a near total departure from everything that made the Jaguar name famous.
One video I saw attracted over eight thousand comments, almost all of which were negative toward the marketing, the design and almost all said it will be the end of Jaguar as we know it!
I can't help thinking if they simply re-released this beauty with some modern engineering and safety gear but keeping the style and design, it would be much more of a success than the latest concept!
A pseudo forced perspective of my 1/18th AUTOart scale model 1961 E-Type Jaguar roadster set against the backdrop of a perfect sunrise in Robe on South Australia's Limestone coast.
