Macro Mondays ~ Refreshments

Happy February!

....aged to perfection!

I love all the long drives my husband and I take throughout South Eastern Idaho. This old, but charming beauty greeted us in the small town of Henry.

Shot of a rusty washtub used for burning wood at a camping spot. I'm so looking forward to getting back to Shortts Lake in Brookfield, Nova Scotia with great company and a Corona.

……. On a garden meander I rather liked the rustic tones appearing rapidly at the moment and the Azalea especially I thought was most pleasing. Alan:-)

This 47 foot water fall on Glen Creek falls lies at the head of The Golden Gate on the Loop Road south of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.

It's seen better days and needs a little restoration.

A rustic entrance greets guests on a Saturday evening.

Illuminated and floating rustic oak leaf. I noticed the water drops but not happy how well I captured them. Still like it. :-)

(aren't we all?) ;-)

Fellow photograph Jim D Baker and I visited what appeared to be a tree farm that was about half way between Tennessee and Carthage, Illinois. Just off the main highway, standing next to each other, were these two old wooden barns that were in a sad state of disrepair. This was shot as we were leaving to head home after the sunset.

In some ways, it is a shame that rustic old wooden barns like these are disappearing from the landscape. In a way, we photographers can preserve a part of history.

The gardens and pathways of Olana are also artistic in design. I could not find any information on the age of this fence, but it certainly was intriguing to look at\.

Trundling south through Shushan, the Batten Kill's southbound towards Eagle Bridge is about to cross NY County Rt. 61, basically "Main St" for Shushan, splitting a pair of old buildings. The whole town is basically a giant time capsule, with old buildings, and lots of rustic details around, and the vintage RS-3s that run through certainly don't help. The crew has a straight shot to Eagle Bridge, only stopping to clear up the occasional fallen tree along the way, but because of the late start on this day, it will be a one way trip, with the northbound happening the next morning.
