It was quite early in the morning but the sun was already up and the light was very bright and harsh.
I had to lie prone on the look-out deck to photograph this duck in order to avoid the glare from the water and the background reed vegetation.

This is the same bufflehead I shot last week at Commonwealth Lake on takeoff. This was just before the other shot.

Bufflehead (F) needs a running start for taking off.
Image taken at ISO 5000, the noise is quite apparent. Nevertheless, I find the reflections and the overall image scheme quite pleasing.
