Porters from the Russian River Brewing Company. Normally I and the rest of #TeamPliny goes for their IPAs, but these are great porters.
Shadow of a Doubt is a great noir movie, filmed in Santa Rosa. Windsor is where their expanded brewery facilities are, and apparently I've got "Batch 1" - which they recommend putting aside for a while.

Happy birthday to one of my new best friends, Stephanie! I'm really glad to have her in my life. I've known her since high school but we've just recently reconnected through work at RRBC and have discovered all the things we have in common! This summer we have plans to start our own plot at one of the community gardens (through the LEAF program, since Mom and Dad have officially been kicked out), along with many other things we've been adding to our list. "Steffi" is ONE OF the first true friends I feel like I've made as an adult that will stay in my life. I say that because I feel like often times the people you meet through childhood into high school become your friends because you have classes or extracurriculars, and you stick together because of those shared interests and activities. And that does not diminish their significance in any way, because it's important to surround yourself with loving people who have known you your whole life. But sometimes we tend to hold each other frozen in a time that's past, and in some cases those friendships don't grow with you. I think it's more challenging to create lasting friendships after high school, so it's great to meet someone else who wants to be my friend as much as I want to be theirs :) I know that sounds really corny, but she's a beautiful and loving person, and I admire her for the strength and perseverance I don't think she even realizes she has. Happy 22nd!

Yum, yum, yum, and more yum. Long Live Vinnie Cilurzo and RRBC. AND, long live the local bottle shop that just recently started stocking this; now we don't have to drive to the bay area or Santa Rosa, CA to get it!!

#TeamPliny bikes around the Russian River with a classical education and partakes of Russian River Brewing Company's finest beers. Touring with a glass growler has been a challenge, though, given its lovely but tricky shape.
Fortunately, they will now fill these sturdy, insulated HydroFlask growlers that are easy to carry one per pannier. And if I really want 67oz more, I can carry an additional glass one in a rack pack.

1) One important asset of Russian River Brewing Company’s visual identity is the hand-done illustration style which emphasizes the fact that the beer is hand crafted by the brewmaster. The color palette will also be an important aspect to the brand.
2) Important message: Russian River Brewing takes of the best of their excellent location and hop luxuries to create the absolute best beer that could be created.
3) RRBC will be more fluid with the continued use of the hand-done style to create secondary elements and translate it into the beer labels.

At the end of a bike tour in Sonoma County I usually stop at Russian River Brewing Co. to fill some growlers to take home. For years I used the glass growlers, usually one per pannier, but these are tricky when bike touring. So I shelled out for some Hydroflask growlers.
Usually I fill them with Row 2 Hill 56, which is all Simcoe hops, because I could never obtain them any other way. Availability is tricky, because they want to have enough Simcoe for their Plinys, so I fill growlers every chance I get.
