Sometimes I ask myself what my pictures will mean to me in 10 or 20 years from now... This one has survived 15y and it means a lot! My family roots are in this hidden northern spot at Peneda-Gerês national park. And this house it's still there, waiting... Quality is not the best: I tried to recover the original slide developing with Lightroom after scanning.

Natures architecture.

Out of my confort zone, normally i shoot seascapes.

This is a tree in my lokal wood. There are not many woods in my region. So if there is a tree like this it is very remarkable.

The IR foliage added a surreal mood and contrast.

Persistent roots of a cedar (I believe) tree growing beside the Gooseberry River in Gooseberry Falls State Park.

The park is located in Castle Danger, north of Two Harbors, Minnesota.

The roots of a couple old trees are snarled and tangled - I guess locked together until the insects chew them up.

Happy Macro Monday!

The little, lone tree watched from its fated spot as seasons came, and seasons passed; crops were planted, and crops were harvested. Humans would come, and humans would go. Birds would keep the little tree company, only to fly away as the seasons changed. Clouds would drift overhead, only to disappear over the horizon.

Seasons came, and seasons passed; and came, and passed. And the little, lone tree watched silently, rooted and permanent in the tiny, ever-changing field it knew as home.

Montezuma Cypress' roots

Adrift in a balloon high above Roots by Cica Ghost reveals below a wonderful mix of dark tones and bright colors amid the tangle of twisted roots and rolling landscape. Like something from a fantastic dream, a world of wonder awaits the curious visitor to this magical place.

With a day of hiking planned, we started our day out with a nice breakfast at the famed Betty's Pies. Our first stop was Gooseberry State park which is one of the most popular in the State of MN with an estimated 620K visitors annually.

There had just been a flooding rain a few days prior which made for the gushing water over the falls. We've been here many times but it never gets boring, I always seem to find a new angle to shoot.

Some moss covered tree roots in Bayhurst Wood, Harefield.

We have not had rain for three weeks, The night before we received a small amount, and I was jumping with joy. These roots are dark from that rainfall.

No comments today – just enjoy :-)

This stand of trees at the field edge is quite incredible but they are on a well trodden footpath. Looking at the exposure of these roots I wonder how much longer the tree will hold out. We don’t really think about causing harm when we walk in the woods - just an example here is how we need to tread lightly.
