I don't know if these two couples even belonged together. But when I looked at the finished picture, I noticed this seemingly traditional division of roles and had to smile a little.

I was shooting slime mold fruiting bodies and he wandered by. It was interesting to see this critter run daintily among the little spore laden stalks. I noticed that the bug was careful with them, not stepping on the fruit, but weaving among them. I wonder if there is some unknown ecological relationship between them. Or maybe the simple life understands something about the environment.

A giant man and car earing jelly fish ? A partly deconstructed UFO?
It is 'She Changes' , a sculpture of Janet Echelman near the Atlantico.
'She changes' (Janet Echelman) is a monumental, red and white, membrane-like sculpture at the Praca Cidade San Salvador in the town of Matosinhos along the shoreline outside of Porto It prompts multiple associations, both in terms in Echelmanâs earlier works as they relate to its morphology and in terms of its context. One can readily make a connection with the fishing nets that have played a historical role in the economy and life of this region for centuries. One may also envision sea creatures from the tide pools, as one of my colleagues pointed out. Yet there is another aspect of the work that can also be recognizedâand that is the sensuality of the piece as it exists in a pure form without cynicism and without domination in relation to this remarkable seaside vista.'

This star-studded image from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope depicts globular cluster NGC 6717, which lies more than 20,000 light-years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. Globular clusters are roughly spherical collections of stars tightly bound together by gravity.
The bright foreground stars at the center of the image reside between Earth and the cluster, and are distinguished by the crisscross diffraction spikes that form when their light interacts with the structures supporting Hubble’s secondary mirror.
The constellation Sagittarius is in the same area of the night sky as the center of the Milky Way, which is filled with light-absorbing gas and dust. This absorption of light – which astronomers call “extinction” – makes studying globular clusters near the galactic center challenging. To determine the properties of NGC 6717, astronomers relied on a combination of Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3 and the Advanced Camera for Surveys.

Recent problems on the Richmond Branch of the London Overground saw Class 378 units stabled on the centre line at Kensington Olympia before returning to service. This saw freight trains routed down the platform line running 'around'' them for a change. Freightliner 66 566 with a train of hoppers snakes past 378 201 in the middle.

There isn't much to the small community of Raymond, Georgia these days but the massive concrete coaling tower still testifies its past importance as a junction on the Central of Georgia. In years past this is where the R-Line from Columbus joined with the C-Line running from Griffin to Chattanooga. While the C-Line for most of its existence has just been a very long branchline, it did once play a role in hosting a hotshot streamliner. When the Central inaugurated the Atlanta-Columbus Man O War in 1947, it utilized trackage rights over the Atlanta & West Point from there to Newnan before picking up home rails for a short jaunt on the C-Line to Raymond. There it hung a hard right on the R-Line for the rest of the run to Columbus.
Alas, the days of the Man O War are long gone now and due to abandonments only two isolated segments of the C-Line are still active. Raymond now only sees twice-weekly local G66 trundling through at 10mph on decaying trackage; as is the case on this winter Sunday in 2013 as the 3218 heads for Senoia running long hood forward as the Southern would have preferred.

The Pisani family, a Venetian patrician family originating from Pisa, played an important role in the historic, political and economic events of the Venetian Republic during the period between the 12th and the beginning of the 18th Century. Alvise Pisani bought this palazzo in the late 16th century to give his Palazzo di Santo Stefano a presence on the Grand Canal. The two buildings were joined and many renovations, except to the facade, were made in the 18th century.

This is the beach where part of the film "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" was shot in 2000. It is located on the north side of Kefalonia, near Komitata of Erisou. It has white pebbles, while the green nature around with olives and cypresses give the deep waters an aquamarine, turquoise color. Definitely will impress you when seen from above, as you go down the from from Komitata. The landscape had become worldwide famous because it was depicted on the poster of the film "The Captain Corelli's Mandolin." Chorgota became known as "The Beach Pelagia 'from the first scene where we see the protagonist (the role was the Penelope Cruz against the backdrop of beach. The shooting took place in Sami and Antisamos the summer of 2000 and the movie starring Nicolas Cage premiered the following year, making Kefalonia better known worldwide. Chorgota is not a proper beach but here you will enjoy peace and tranquility under the shade of trees, gazing across the northern Ithaca. The road is paved, starting at Komitata and leads to Chorgota and neighboring beach of Agia Sophia.
