I took a few shots of these little falls... then a few shots more... when you get a nice scene, you cannot help yourself... just changed the angle..

High tide time at Porty, waves rolling into the wooden groynes which protect the sands of the beach against erosion.
A few more recent people-watching shots taken while strolling along the promenade and beach at Portobello, Edinburgh's seafront.
The light fading, the eastern sky tinged pink by the declining sun racing downwards in the western skies, while the eternal waves care not about light or dark or twilight between the realms, they just roll on and one.
This waterfall on East Gill upstream of Ash Force is both unnamed and unmarked on the OS 1:25000 map.
East Gill joins with West Gill at the small village of Cotterdale to form Cotterdale Beck.
North Yorkshire.
Not long after spotting a three-master in the mist off the shore of Portobello (see here - www.flickr.com/photos/woolamaloo_gazette/48457187057/in/d... ) I spotted another tall ship just off the coast as I was strolling to work one morning. Almost certainly another pirate raiding expedition, in my humble opinion (or imagination, really)
Some more older pics I found in folders, that for some reason I hadn't sorted and uploaded (must have been a busy month!).
These were all shot around Portobello in May of 2018 (ah, the pre-Covid days, no social distancing or masks!). Some people watching snaps of people enjoying the beach, the Promenade, getting coffee from The Little Green Van (a regular weekend fixture at Porty, they even have little cushions you can borrow to use sitting on the nearby sea wall while having your coffee!), just all enjoying being by the coast.
One of the many nice things about Edinburgh - you have ancient, historic city centre, but you can also go hill-walking on Arthur's Seat (a huge extinct volcano in a royal park in the middle of town) or even for a beach walk, all without leaving the city's boundaries.
While there has been a railway spur connecting Wemyss Bay on the edge of the Firth of Clyde since the mid 1860s to the main Glasgow-bound rail line, the station here (rated as one of the most beautiful in all of the British Isles), was built in 1903 by James Miller for the Caledonian Railway, also incorporating a docking and embarkation facility for steamboats which dock right by the station.
Both the covered passageway for pedestrians down to the docks and the railway platforms with their elegant glass and steel canopies have rather beautiful, gentle curves to them. I think you can see why they are popular subjects with Scottish photographers!
Off down there today with my dad, we had gorgeous spring weather - warm, bright light, clear, blue skies, the Clyde sparkling in the sunlight, and the light was perfect for shooting inside the station under that lovely turn of the century steel and glass canopy.
This group of young folk went running into the Forth as we were walking by at Portobello - bearing in mind it's January, it must be freezing!!! They seemed to be having fun though!

-HI! TUESDAYS- WEEKEND SALE

Rather lucky spot from my local supermarket. It looked in rather good condition considering its age and the type of car it is. It was driven by an elderly gentleman. He has owned it since December 2000. Plz comment
To the left, the land is the Isle of Sheppey - the sun is setting over the Thames Estuary and Essex.
I don't usually do local sunsets as when you have seen one, you have seen them all, but this was a better than normal, so this is my ration for the year!
To avoid burning out the highlights, I metered on the area above the sun, and by using RAW, I was able to bring up the light on the shingle, another good reason to use RAW files!
