On our way to one of the most powerful waterfalls - Dettifoss in the world, I was attracted by this mountain appearance that I had to stop my car and captured it. But then this uneven surface in the middle of this river caught my eyes, because the water was flowing to this sinking hole, and I knew I needed a longer exposure to capture this swirling shape.

Down by the river Wear in the centre of Durham in north east England. The city centre is on higher ground above the river valley, so down here although you're only a few minutes from the bustle of city life, you're in a tranquil and peaceful part of town. A lovely riverside walk.

Quite dark and cloudy winter afternoon on the river..

This was the river that me and my pals had great adventures in, fishing ,rafting swimming and it was the river that I learned to fish the mystical dry fly. For those who haven't done it it is impossible to describe the emotional highs and excitement in the the art of this discipline.

Another shot from my wander up the River Avon last Thursday.

Along the river there were all these gorgeous Pink flowers, I have no idea what they are but they added lots of colour to the area.

The river was running really low but there were still a few tiny cascades dotted along the walk.

Evening continues over the river on a calm night.

A cool classic boat heads toward the 150 North Riverside Building at the Chicago River Confluence.

150 North Riverside has a slenderness ratio of 20:1 at the base then rises to 229m tall. This means that only 25% of the lot was used and the rest is a park and mini-amphitheater. Though I think this is small comfort for those living at the Randolph Place Condos that had their river views blocked.

Brisbane is also called River city. When I took some night shots, I realized why.

I managed to take a walk today, a day a bit 'more "warm" than the previous ones.

I did not have the "official" camera with me because I wanted to be free of weight and photographic obligations.

I wanted to enjoy the walk and I found myself, instead, taking a lot of photos of the fascinating river and the path in winter clothes.

This small nikon compact, now dated, is able to capture the "mood" of the environment, probably better than the other, has no claims in detail, all that immortal is what I needed today- the essence of the river in winter, in its apparent calm, in the dull colors, in the bony trees and in the total absence of living beings of all kinds....

River View is an interesting capture that my daughter took and passed it along to me to share. The Pocono mountains are in Pennsylvania. A great place to hike and spend some time in any season. Here is another capture I took of the neat rainbow there that formed recently at sunset as it was sprinkling there on the river. Captured with the 6 Stop ND.

Wilbur shoots the leaves floating lazily down a slow stretch of the Snoqualmie River.

The Aare River is the longest river in Switzerland, rising and ending within the Swiss territory. The entire length of the river, starting from its point of rising to its end, measures up to approximately 183 miles.

The river has its source in the Aar glaciers, and then it runs eastwards to the Grimsel and then goes to the northwest direction along the Haslital. The river then moves towards Lake Brienz and near the west end of the lake, the river meets the Lutschine. The Aare River then crosses the swampy plains and expands to Lake Thun.

Inspired by Johnny Depp and the pirates/river rats in Chocolat, a local river is now home to some.

Our stop in Kamloops was only overnight but there was time to explore a little bit and one of the places we went was Riverside Park, where the North and South Forks of the Thompson River meet
