Церква преподобного Агапіта Печерського у Києво-Печерській Лаврі.

Церкву в колишній лікарняній будівлі почали відроджувати у 2016 році. Оскільки це колишній лікарняний корпус, то назвали храм саме в ім’я преподобного Агапіта Лікаря.

Новий храм було освячено 7 грудня 2021 року.

Церква преподобного Агапіта Печерського розташована у будівлі колишньої лікарні братської та прочанської Києво-Печерської Лаври, за межами оборонної стіни верхньої території монастиря.

Будівля лікарні – один із видатних об'єктів, збудованих Лаврою на початку ХХ століття. Корпус звели у 1910-1912 роках за проєктом та під наглядом архітектора Євгена Єрмакова; прикрашений у модернізованих формах російсько-візантійського стилю. У 1920-х роках тут розміщувався Київський військовий шпиталь No2. З 1949 року у будівлі знаходився Київський науково-дослідний інститут інфекційних хвороб, з 1981-го – Київський науково-дослідний інститут епідеміології та інфекційних хвороб ім. Л. Громашевського.

У гранчастому ризаліті лікарняного корпусу раніше була церква на честь ікони «Всіх скорботних Радосте», яку вінчали три куполи. Храм мав окремі приміщення ризниці та дияконника. Прикрашав церкву дерев'яний, позолочений іконостас. Лікарню на 100 ліжок із церквою освятили 22 листопада 1912 року. Храм був діючим до березня 1921 року.

On the right side of the iconostasis, on a column, is a fresco, in which Elder Simeon, a dilapidated old man with white hair, holds the swaddled Infant Christ in his arms. In his eyes turned to Him, there is the triumph of the vow fulfilled by God: “Now you release your servant, Vladyka,” his senile lips whisper. The middle-aged, emaciated face of the prophetess Anna is stern and mournful - she thinks about the sword that will pierce the soul of the Mother of God.

Анна була другою особою після Симеона, що зустріла Ісуса в храмі під час Стрітення Господнього, про що свідчить Євангеліє від Луки:

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Cedar Creek, Natural Bridge State Park, Virginia

"But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."

~ Amos 5:24

One of the first scenes you see when you pass through the old entryway for Natural Bridge State Park and head down the stairs is this peaceful little alcove quietly displaying the deceptively gentle force that formed the Natural Bridge in Virginia. Cedar Creek certainly doesn't look like much here, but over millions of years it helped form a 215-foot-high (66 m) natural arch that Thomas Jefferson, before he became our 3rd President, proclaimed to be "the most Sublime of nature's works".

One would think the Natural Bridge itself would be more famous; in 1774 Jefferson actually purchased it from King George III (yes, that King George whom he rebelled against 2 years later; and he only paid 20 Shillings for it!) Before that, a large stone engraved with "G.W." and bearing a surveyor's cross there at Natural Bridge proves that our 1st President, George Washington himself surveyed the bridge when he came through in 1750. Nor were they the only U.S. Presidents who visited the structure; both James Monroe (5th President) and Martin Van Buren (8th President) stayed at Jefferson's log cabin retreat there.

The bridge is even mentioned by Herman Melville in describing Moby-Dick. Yet in spite of all that history, Natural Bridge was only made a State Park, not even a National Park, as late as 2016.

The park features a lot to do besides the creek and bridge, but I still find this spot here to be the most memorable due to its tranquil setting. The power of water, even when flowing gently.

Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️
