Any MK1 Polo is a rare sight nowadays, particularly one in such original condition. This is no doubt helped by the fact that the car only had one keeper from new until October last year. I came across it on the forecourt of a small garage in SE London. They have put it up for sale, probably with a rather hefty pricetag attached, if the rising values of old Volkswagens are anything to go by! I’d like to think that the person who ends up buying the car will keep it looking as original as it is at the moment. Many other similarly aged Polos tend to have banded steels and other naff modifications.

Photographed at Yakima Area Arboretum, Yakima County, Washington. Notice these birds. on their legs. There might be one that was banded this year but most have returned from being banded previous years. I provide data to the researcher who banded these birds. GCSP is Golden-crowned Sparrow. R is red, G is green, and x is metal. IMG_9960

I suppose traffic jams are a way of life for many motorists. I'm not really used to them and try and avoid times and places where I know they'll be.
However; these roadworks on the St Austell Bypass are extremely annoying....
It was good to find myself behind this rare Granada though.
