Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL): on December 10, 2017 the automatic funicular of Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg, in the city of Luxembourg, was put into service. It consists of two identical parallel funiculars, each with a single standard gauge track and a central crossing point. The route has a length of 200 meters, a decline of 19.7%, and the maximum speed is 7 m / s. This line links the new rail stop of Pfaffenthal-Kirchberg (put into service the same day), on the line from Luxembourg to Troisvierges, with the Rout Bréck-Pafendall tram stop.

Luxtram SA: since December 10, 2017, the tram has returned to the streets of Luxembourg. For the moment, this public company operates only part of the T1 line, which links Luxexpo with Stäreplatz/Étoile. The extensions to the airport in the northeast, and to the center of the city to Cloche-d'Or in the south, are under construction. A section of the current route, between Stäreplatz/Étoile and Rout Bréck-Pafendall, does not have an overhead power line, and the trams run with the accumulated energy in super capacitors. To provide the service, there are 10 Urbos 3 trams manufactured by CAF (numbers 101-110), of an order of 32, equipped with the Freedrive system to store energy.
At the Rout Bréck-Pafendall stop you will find the transition point between the sections with and without overhead line. Here we the tram 108 leaving the stop, after having lowered the pantograph.
