Formerly killed in huge numbers for their fur, especially during the 1920s and ’30s, koalas dwindled in number from several million to a few hundred thousand. In the southern part of their range, they became practically extinct except for a single population in Gippsland, Victoria in Australia. Some were translocated onto small offshore islands, especially Phillip Island, where they did so well that these koalas were used to restock much of the original range in Victoria and southern New South Wales, Australia.
the little busy bee is on the way into the weekend but first needs to restock the food suplies in the "Friday Rose" 😃 Wishing everybody a sunny weekend ☀️ TGIF!

Getting the yard ready for summer! Restocking the pond.
Hopefully the raccoon, or whatever likes to go fishing in there and eat them all, will not be back this summer! We actually found ONE lonely fish that made it thru all fall, winter and spring without being fed! I think the neighbors all heard me shriek at Steve to turn off the pump we were using to empty the pond when I saw a fish had survived! I was so happy :) So now he has 12 new friends to make a perfect "Baker's Dozen!"
This is how the Royal Navy, and other navies, restock their ships at sea.

Macro Mondays - theme of August 3, 2020: Chocolate
[a heaped teaspoon of (sweetened) chocolate powder on top of frothed milk - width of this image: about 5 cm]
I couldn't do MM for ages now, but this theme was too enticing to skip another round - even though we don't have any chocolate at home right now (grrr - forgot to restock) ... but luckily my husband likes to drink hot chocolate and the chocolate powder somehow never runs out, lol :))
Happy Macro Mondays, everyone !!
[there are some problems with the Internet connection today - so I might be off and on for a while]

With 1 clay and 2 soda cars, the 3 Yard job approaches Empire Junction with the boats running into the sun. The train will spot at the clay shed and bring back whatever empties they have and leave them at Queens for CN to pick up.
Dan, the Lilliputian strong man has been tricked by his friends, he happily volunteered to restock the bar with soft drinks but little did he know that the cans belonged to Lemuel Gulliver! He stands at one and a quarter inches and the cans are nearly half his height.
I bought a Dalia plant in flower from Bunnings. There weren’t a lot to choose from. A few days later they had restocked with lots to choose from.
I am going to grow Dahlias. I have some tubers and seeds.
The seeds appeal to me because the flowers will be a surprise
Have a fabulous day.
It turns out I stored a lot of my film in my bag rather than waking it with me carry on - a big no no meaning that a lot of my film could have been damaged before I took a shot, let alone through seven flights to Scotland. So with that im not feeling too good, but at least have restocked all my film for iceland and will do so again for the USA.
Anyways, this was the last shot i captured with film and pretty much sums my mood.
Klineline Pond is routinely restocked with fish for the locals, including the birds. In fall and winter the Double-crested Cormorants hang around waiting for the bounty. There must be some kind of a bird internet, because when the ponds are actually stocked the number of cormorants goes up from four or five to a good 15 or so. This was a no-stock day.
Today's snow fall bought lots of birds to the garden and I was constantly restocking the feeders. This photo was taken from the kitchen window.
One from the archives, re-worked - this was Langley Park Lake after the big refurbishment of the lake, new path had been laid from the right-hand side and the lake emptied, dig out, refilled and restocked with fish. Lot of debris round the near end though.
Shot was taken on Nikon D300 with Tokina AT-X Pro 11-16mm with big stopper. Aperture f/22, ISO 200, 28 seconds exposure.
The Tokina was a very sharp lens in its day but maybe the tripod moved slightly as not quite as sharp as it should be here. But bear in mind we are 15 years on from then !!!
While exploring the West side road I ran into snow somewhere short of my destination of George Lake and frankly the road was boring me so I went back down to a cairn that I saw lower down. Shortly after entering my 'secret' trail is a sign that simply reads 'trail unmaintained'. I thought that it ended at Tahoma creek because there were no further signs until I saw the pink ribbon markers tied to downed trees leading to where it reenters the forest further up stream. The creek swallows it up on a few more occasions affording nice views to the mountain and then you come to this. I love finding things like this. At it's terminus is a sign signifying that it's the 'Tahoma Creek Trail, usage discouraged'. Once home I discovered that it is a major artery of the Emerald Ridge Loop, a connector to the Wonderland for restocking and a back door to Indian Henry's Hunting Grounds. Hello Washington Trails Association!
Blow it up and look around, pretty cool little scene.

The late shift - cleaning, repairs and restocking.
York, England.
According to the UK Government:
Staff who regularly work at least 3 hours during the ‘night period’ are night workers.
The night period is 11pm to 6am, unless the worker and employer agree a different night period.
If they do, it must be 7 hours long and include midnight to 5am. It must be agreed in writing.
Staff may also be night workers if there’s a collective agreement (for example, trade union agreement) that states their work is night work.
The National Minimum Wage applies to night workers but there is not a higher night working rate.
Sleep-in shifts:
The number of hours that workers get paid the National Minimum Wage depends on whether they’re expected to sleep or work for most of their shift.
Workers who are expected to sleep for most of a sleep-in shift (for example, a care worker), and are provided with suitable sleeping facilities, will only get the National Minimum Wage for the periods when they’re awake to perform tasks.
Workers who are expected to work for most of a shift will get the National Minimum Wage for their whole shift, even if they’re allowed to sleep between tasks.
The two adults were sitting in trees this morning, and finally one of them decided it was hungry. It only caught a tender morsel though. I think most of the bit trout in this alpine lake are gone until they restock the lake in a few months. Zoom in to see the tiny trout in its talons. Zoom in all the way to see the expression on the poor trout's face.
Lake gets restocked with rainbow trout.
Double-crested cormorants follow and show up in big numbers . And White pelicans follow cormorants.
Cormorants can dive in catch the fish but pelicans can only scoop up the fish. So when a cormorant catches a big one it takes a bit of time for cormorants to align the fish properly and swallow which gives photographers to get some nice action shot and Pelicans to attack and rob off the fish.
Most of these cases pelicans win but in this case both lost, looked like fish was dropped back in the lake
A productive day spent in the kitchen trying to restock the freezer. By the end there were peanut butter cookies, pumpkin loaves, orange and cranberry muffins and blueberry muffins. Now to sit down with a coffee and have a quick taste test. After all I wouldn't want to keep anything that didn't meet standards.

I had a bit of free time today so thought I would spend it restocking the freezer. After all you never know if someone will drop by for a tea or coffee.
12 bottles of finest ghetto blaster ale, for the fridge. Options for hot days. Which, in Detroit, seem to be every day.
stopped at Walmart to restock of food and other necessities. on the way out I saw a small tree and loved the lingering leaves and their color. and oddly I began to think of friends and love, now gone... and hope perhaps someday we'll meet again. funny how thoughts creep in at very unexpected times. oh well, back to driving and more time to ponder.

Dear Journal,
It had been about a week since we last encountered any signs of civilization, and our supplies had begun to dwindle. Fountunately, John knew of a nearby island whose inhabitants lived almost entirely in treehouses. Despite its wild description, the town is of good size and rather prosperous. it is, no doubt, the ideal place to restock our inventory. Upon arriving, I set out to gather the necessary items and gain a much-needed chance to stretch my poor aching legs. Just as I purchased the last item on my list and was returning back to the boat, I happened upon, dear journal, the same blighter who had so wrongfully cast me into prison some three weeks ago. The scallawag instantly recognized me, and we stood staring for but a moment, then I hollered while raising my staff, "You scoundrel!" with that declaration, he turned to flee. However, before he could make his escape to spy on me again, my now-awakened legs overtook him and in my anger I swatted him to the ground with my maple staff. All my anger turned to surprise when he rolled over and drew a Winterfield Tri-shot pistol, more than a match for my humble stick. A sinister grin spread across his face. "Kindly lower your branch Master Zenas..."
I wasn't going to back down now. With my staff still raised I replied, "One move and I'll knock you senseless, I know what you're up to!" Our actions had drawn a considerable crowd at this point, and a blue-clad trooper ran up to our stalemate. "All right you hoods! I don't know what you're brawling about, but this is a peaceful town and you better clear out or I'll send the hounds on you!"
At the thought of that prospect we both simultaneously withdrew our weapons. But I wasn't about to lose him now and as he rose, I proposed a challenge, "The officer is right, we should settle this in a more civilized manner." My adversary seemed curious as he cocked his eyebrow. "What do you propose?"
"How about a match of chess?" I gestured to a nearby table with the game set up. "The loser must let the other go in peace." "A battle of wits then? Agreed!" We both sat down to play and I began to ask careful questions as we moved our pieces across the board. "You know, I never got your name. Though you seem to know mine well enough." "The name is Phillip Hamwich." "I see, and who do you work for?" "Aha! straight to the point you are! I work for... Uh, erm... A Gentleman of Fortune." "And why would you want to follow me?" "Because, Master Zenas, you too are a gentleman of fortune, a very large fortune indeed." Well it's unfortunate that your employer didn't hire a better chess player, because it seems you won't be following me anymore." With that last statement I placed the last piece in position for the checkmate. Hamwich gasped and I laughed heartily. "In all honesty, Hamwich, I won't miss your company. I hope you have a pleasant journey back to where you came from!"
Hamwich rose from the table with a malicious grin. "Sorry, Master Zenas, I too am a gentleman of fortune, and I don't play by the rules!"
I rose from the table disgusted at the odious liar before me. "So you have no intention of letting me be?" "Not with the Treasure of Bolas Ramson at stake!" No sooner had these words left his mouth when a shadow fell uopn the marketplace and swooped over our previously sunny tablespace. "Climb aboard Zenas!" Without hesitation, and with much relief, I did as John asked and clambered onto our little craft from a rope that dangled beneath. "Glad I got you out of there Zenas! That was Phil Hamwich, a well-known smuggler and thief. I have run into him a few times before." "I fear we shall run into him a few more times." I replied solemly. "Not so Zenas! I cut his boat lose a half hour ago! We won't see him again for months!"
I shall write again later, dear journal. Until then!

My company is pushing "employee engagement", and as part of that has created the "Fun At Work Committee" — FAWC. I suppose it never occurred to them to actually say FAWC phonetically, but I am having great fun with it.
We were supposed to go to happy hour yesterday, but the FAWCers never got their crap together. I actually turned my computer off at 3:30, an hour early, because that's when we were supposed to go. I turned it back on at 3:45 because it became obvious that those FAWCs couldn't organize themselves enough to get out the door.
So then, we were supposed to go today for a regular Friday afternoon happy hour. Again, the dumb FAWCs were so clueless that I just went home. WTFAWC?! I had better things to do, like getting ready for the BBQ cook-off. Besides, who needs those FAWCers when I have some SoCo at home?
Anyways, this is a reject because it is totally staged. I didn't drink the SoCo — at least not all of it. I just wanted the chance to repeatedly say FAWC. 8^D
Hey guys...
I finally restocked on these because I know some of you missed the previous releases.
