I'm re-posting this one because I made subtle changes in the editing and I think I like it better now.

It seems to be a popular shot alot of people had requested to buy a copie.

So I'm looking into framing it on Canvas and adding it to my collection for my craft shows at the end of the year!.

Unfortunately I can't edit out the print of the wood-board. Hens why it's in black and white the shot. The long stripe and print are in bright red and black. Which ruins the shot! Too much distraction I think...

Anyway I hope you you don't mind seeing the shot a second time... Hope you like it! :)

Grandpops Woodlice, also known as Philip Male, wrote that he would prefer to see one yellow bead. (See his comments on the previous macro, if curious.) I'm not certain if that meant one yellow bead without the tiny 18mm glass container or cork top. Perhaps he is quite a minimalist, although perhaps not. That is a large bear he posted today.

Fiddled with this a tad in an old version of Photoshop.

I am holding an online photo exhibition. For details, check the Photo exhibition venue. I was planning to actually exhibit it at a gallery in Tokyo in April, but it was postponed at the request of the government.

Photo exhibition venue → kyoto-muse.jp/web-exhibit/110790

playlist→ music.apple.com/jp/playlist/%E5%80%8B%E5%B1%95/pl.u-38oWZ...

COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2 is attacking all over the world. Japan is no exception, and everyday is becoming more difficult. As a photographer, I also thought about life and postponed the exhibition according to the government's request. The Japanese government does not support artists. So I decided to hold an online photo exhibition. This is free to watch.

The photo exhibition should be in the dark in the room at night, preferably with the playlist. Look at the brightness of mobile terminals at 1/3.

A requested group photo of Anthony and Daniel (the puddle dancer) with Lucy.

I hope you two get to see this photo somehow.

The comfort that Anthony got from fussing Lucy was clear (even if he did get covered in hairs) and Lucy's smile says it all.

One of the requests I get from time to time is to make a triptych of house numbers I have found on my many urban walks. They are usually a combo of numbers to celebrate a special date like a wedding. Initially, I thought it would be easy to make a portfolio of numbers because I only needed to go up to 31. The triptych for today would read 26 3 22. However, once I began paying attention to house numbers, I realized there were very few house/building numbers under 100! Charlottetown, PEI still has several homes in their downtown core with the low house numbers and their numbers often have that Maritime charisma. Then there is the old city of Quebec that has several house numbers with 1/2. I posted this one for the theme “Numbers” to make you Smile on Saturday!

On Wednesday evenings I often get together with a friend with the intention of learning to sing and play guitars together.

He's on holiday this week and I'm not envious at all ... not one single bit .... well maybe just a little bit.

Well anyway, Tony, if you're reading this, which you almost certainly won't be because you're probably eating donuts and having way too much fun, but if by chance you are then practise, practise, PRACTISE !!!

As promised (to Tom) very early Thursday afternoon, two more Acorn woodpeckers upon request. This is a special pair. Normally, I can't tell a mated pair of these birds because they are not monogamous although they do only mate within the family. In order to become a member of an Acorn woodpecker family, you have to be ... hartched into it. Several generations are part of the family. For an outsider to be nominated, there usually has to be a death in the family. I don't know how the voting is accomplished, but I would imagine if the nominee shows up with three or more acorns, its got the insider track.

This is a pair: the male is on the left; female on the right. You can tell by the differences in the red crown.

The acorn woodpecker's habitat is forested areas with oaks in the coastal areas and foothills of Oregon, California, and the southwestern United States, south through Central America to Colombia. This species may occur at low elevations in the north of its range, but rarely below 1,000 m (3,300 ft) in Central America, and it breeds up to the timberline. Nests are excavated in a cavity in a dead tree or a dead part of a tree. Other characteristics are discussed in yesterday's upload.

One other thing that I always mention is that these "clowns" of the woodpecker species were the inspiration for Woody Woodpecker by cattroonist Walter Lantz in the 1930s. The call, a lioud ratcheting sound, HAD to be the model for Woody's call.

This was one of the earliest successful shots of this woodpecker, and one of the first bird images with the SX20 camera. Knowing the behavior and territory of a family ofhem is exceedingly useful in getting good images. For these two, I found the three main Valley oaks (out of as many as five), saw which was getting the most attention, and staked it out for the better part of two summers. With all that, I never saw where a nest was although I could guess by the activity around a hole in the trunk. Once the young are flying, they do not use the nest cavity again. They're too busy hoarding acorns. The branch of the tree that these two were on, collapsed under its own weight in May of 2011. It was estimated that 100,000 acorns had been hammered into that one branch. By the end of 2013, the whole tree had collapsed. flic.kr/p/23Xpdx4

This guy has been hanging around and he seems like a bit of an outcast as he is often alone and doesn't really have a mob to call his own.

He has let me get close to him to take photos even though I don't want to get too close just in case he decides he doesn't want to be friends.

Anyway the other day he did deiced to take back my friend request and as I went to take a photo he came at me.

I basically shit myself and ran back into the safety of the cat yard. I can take a hint.

"The Car with a Conscience"

The Oakland Motor Car Company of Pontiac, Michigan, was an American automobile manufacturer and division of General Motors. Purchased by General Motors in 1909, the company continued to produce modestly priced automobiles until 1931 when the brand was dropped in favor of the division's Pontiac make.

The company was created by Edward Murphy who owned the Pontiac Buggy Company and Alanson Brush who was working as a consultant in Detroit after leaving the Cadillac Motor Company. Oakland Motor Company was named for Oakland County, Michigan, in which it was based.

After one year of production, Oakland's principal founder, Edward Murphy, sold half of the company to William C. Durant's General Motors Corporation in early 1909. When Murphy died in the summer of 1909, GM acquired the remaining rights to Oakland. Within General Motors, Oakland was later slotted as their entry-level brand below the more expensive Oldsmobile, Buick, and Cadillac cars. Conventional four-cylinder engined models were introduced shortly after the GM takeover, and GM didn't acquire the volume-priced Chevrolet until 1917, and Oakland found itself competing with the Ford Model T introduced in October 1908. Once GM assumed operations of Oakland, production was moved to the factory that manufactured Cartercar in Pontiac, Michigan, another Durant acquisition that was cancelled while the resources were newly utilized, and the Oakland Model 40 was introduced. Starting with 1910 Oakland was exclusively offering 4-cylinder flathead engines with five different wheelbases and their advertising slogan was "The Car with a Conscience". By early 1920, however, production and quality control problems began to plague the division. In 1921, under new general manager Fred Hannum, a consistent production schedule was underway and the quality of the cars improved, and Oakland vehicles shared the GM A platform used by Chevrolet. One marketing tactic was the employment of a quick-drying bright blue automotive lacquer by Duco (a DuPont brand product), leading to the slogan "True Blue Oakland Six".

The Oakland was built only in Pontiac, Michigan, which is the county seat of Oakland County. The name antedates any GM association with an automobile manufacturing facility in Oakland, California, that built Chevrolet vehicles before Chevrolet joined GM called Oakland Assembly.

Wiki

This morning I had three message requests on my Instagram profile. Firstly, the correspondent had noticed my keen interest in angling and wanted to know whether I’d like to test some of their gear. How they knew this I’ve really no idea, because I’ve never touched a fishing rod in my life. The only enthusiasm I’ve ever displayed for fishing is watching Whitehouse and Mortimer on the BBC and ordering cod and chips at the local once in a while. The second potential suitor was bursting with enthusiasm at my love of fashion and wondered whether I’d like to do a bit of modelling for them. Again…..well if you’ve seen me, you may well have noticed that my chances of taking to the catwalks of London, Milan and Paris are pretty slim. The likelihood of me actually wanting to take to the catwalks of London, Milan and Paris are, if anything, even more remote. Thirdly, a young lady - oh so shy and awkward she was - wanted to “get to know me better.” She’d seen my profile and knew I was the one. The fact that she was nineteen and I was more than three times her age didn’t appear to dampen her ardour. “My parents still look at my phone,” she told me coyly, “so could we hook up on Snapchat?”

But this wasn’t a day for fishing, fashion or erm, consorting with Nigerian “businessmen” - I mean charming young ladies - so I passed up on the opportunity to go angling in the Fal wearing Jodhpurs and a Bolero jacket with a teenage beauty queen cheering me on from the riverbank, deleted the messages - yes, even that one! - and prepared for a date with a very slightly more mature lady. Oh yes, the one I live with, for better or worse, for richer and quite a lot poorer after paying the balance on the autumn holiday in Rhodes and all that. Because we were going out on a Monday afternoon jolly to Mousehole of all places - that’s Mowzle to you - rhyming with Tousle not Mosul. Keeping up? And what’s more, we have a voucher. Or rather a voucher code. Or perhaps just a long string of alphanumeric text that Ali’s niece says is a voucher.

Where does Ali’s niece come into it? Well Lowenna does love the finer things in life. And she wants us to love them too. If we tell her we’re having lunch in a supermarket cafe, she’ll pull a face and say she’d prefer to starve. She’d rather dine at the posh nosh place on the waterfront and pay fifty quid a head for the pleasure, while the waiting staff fawn over her and ask her if everything is perfect. Which is fine - we applaud this. We’re glad she does so. Someone needs to be spending their money to keep the economy rolling. At the same time she often asks us how we retired in our fifties, and the answer is a simple one. We don’t eat at the fifty pounds a head bistro. We never have and we never would. The thought of being fussed over like a pair of prize winning poodles at Crufts is enough to send us racing for the exits before the aperitifs arrive. Never mind the prospect of how much it might cost. But every so often, as a reward for looking after Lowenna’s nine year old son every Wednesday after school, Ali is presented with a voucher. Or a voucher code. Or an alphanumeric string which may or may not even work.

The thing is, even with a voucher that will cover most of the bill, we’re still not that keen. We’ve both looked at the online menu several times and tutted and sighed at the gargantuan prices for a toasted crab sandwich that doesn’t even come with chips. But today we were going to rise to the challenge, bite the bullet and reach for the rose marie sauce. Until we stopped at Morrison’s near Penzance as the rain started and abandoned the entire thing in favour of you know where. Two meals for twelve pounds, with a Meerkat meals membership that’s down to nine pounds, a pot of tea for me and Ali only ever drinks water. She’s annoyingly virtuous. If you ever meet her, don’t waste your time offering her tea or coffee because in all the years I’ve known her, I’ve seen her drink half a cup of the latter just once before passing the rest to me. To my knowledge she’s never touched a cup of tea in her life. Ten pounds and forty-six pence for the lot, and best of all we were happy. We hadn’t spent much and nobody was treating us as if we couldn’t even pull a chair from under a table by ourselves. I’ve long held the belief that people with high standards are going to spend an awful lot more time in life being disappointed than those of us who are easy to please.

But now we were down here, we might as well go on with the second part of today’s plan, which was to park the car on the road into Mousehole, then walk the coast path to Lamorna and back. I’d forgotten how tough this section was. If we’d attempted this after a solitary crab sandwich served without chips, I might have refused the first hill out of Mousehole, but fortified by an all day breakfast it was a breeze. Well, sort of anyway. I’m still waiting for Morrison’s to get in touch via Instagram with a proposal to promote their cafe. If that ever happens, then maybe I won’t delete the message and block the sender like I normally do. Meanwhile, we still have to use that voucher. “Are you enjoying your crab sandwich sir?” “Not really. Where's the chips?”

An UFO-like water blob is hovering above the surface of a wavy landscape of unknown constitution.

Will it manage a safe landing?

Or will it be absorbed in one gulp by this strange and lively floor?

Nothing is certain...

Alfred was one of the most popular men in town. The best stone mason had to work even on Sunday to finish everything on time. Orders were coming from everywhere - the king himself wanted an oversized bust. There was a request even from a land across the sea - a dragon statue. The most interesting job though was from a guy who said he saw his unborn son in a dream. According to the guy, his son's statue would turn to a live boy. He gave Alfred a detailed sketch and asked him to finish the job as soon as possible. The stone mason was baffled, but part of him was really intrigued, because of something he saw in the man's eyes. So Alfred spent almost all of his time working on that statue, leaving on a side all of his other projects. Now he was waiting for the guy...and for that miracle too.

Eden is a sector 7 district on the East side of Drune, rumoured to be “a place of commotion and carnal disquietude."

Rules:

1. You must be a member of the Drune Flickr group and submit your entry to that group with #Drune10kContest in the title or description.

2. Photos must be taken and submitted during the the contest dates. Photos taken prior to or after those dates will not be accepted.

3. The content of the photos can be anything you like as long as it's clear the photo was taken at Drune: East of Eden. This rule is subjective and it's up to the judges' discretion to determine this. Photos taken at other versions of Drune will not be accepted.

4. Each person may submit up to two photos to the contest. You may submit as many photos you like to the group during and after the contest period, but only two for the contest. 6. Photos taken of the three judges (Hera, Sparklebottom Lasertits, and Riowyn) cannot be accepted into the contest, just to eliminate some bias. However, there are images of Sparklebottom in various places on the sim. Photos which include those images will be allowed as long as they are not the main focus of the photo.

If you wish to rez any objects to assist with your photo, Drune Forever! is free-to-join group that allows rezzing (and is also the new, PERMANENT group for all future versions of Drune). There is a group joiner at the entrance. Please be courteous and delete rezzed objects once you have finished with them. Rezzed objects not in use will be periodically returned.

Photos do not need to be submitted to any category. It will be up to the judges to decide which category each photo fits best. As such, "Best Scenery Photo" doesn't mean it can't include avatars, and "Best Avatar(s) Photo" doesn't mean it can only include avatars.

A photo can only win one category, so if the photo includes both action and scenery, the judges will decide which category to consider it for. This also applies to the grand prize, which is what we determine to be the best of the bunch. Each prize is mutually exclusive to all of the other prizes.

Also, keep in mind that Drune: East of Eden is Adult rated (as have all previous versions of Drune) and has many erotic images and themes around the sim. Photos for the contest are welcome to be as erotic (or not) as you'd like.

That being said, please feel free to explore ALL Drune: East of Eden has to offer. There are three clubs (including Pino 2051), a hentai shop, a tattoo parlor, private apartments, an obedience training room, and several other hidden interiors. You are encouraged to explore and utilize the entirety of the sim for the contest. or even for your leisure.

Winners will be announced within a week of the contest ending.

The most important part is to have fun and do what you love! Those photos tend to come out best! If you have any questions about the contest, contact Sparklebottom Lasertits (Sparklybootie in Second Life).
