Not real. Luminar Sky replacement test. Photo actually taken during day. You can make out the distant mountains aren’t masking the sky very well, but overall the Auto Sky replacement works pretty good for one click. The waves would also look very different under a long exposure.

Last sun light in the year 2017 hitting this mountain top, and the almost full moon rising behind it.

This is Nantygwyllt Church, built beside one of the Elan Valley reservoirs as a replacement for a church which was drowned by the water. Fascinating display of photos inside from the time when the reservoirs were built in the early 20th century.

When I was in San Miguel a few years back, this otherwise charming alley was defaced with ugly graffiti. I was happy to find that, now, there are a number of artistic/more pleasant renderings and murals along the way.

Here is a photo from the archives that I may have never of posted if not for the new Photoshop "sky replacement" tool. The sky in this plane photo before the sky replacement was a very boring light blue sky. My kids got me a years subscription to the online photoshop and just getting around to see what it has to offer. This is my first attempt and there are some adjustments that I still have to learn.

I feel a little "dirty" replacing a sky in one of my photos, never really done that before. In doing this it brings a lot of questions to my photo and photography in general.

Should replacing a sky even be allowed and still call it a photo or is it now more a piece if art?

In the future do I need to acknowledge that the sky was replaced in a photo or say nothing? If I take and post a photo that has an amazing sky do I need now to say that the sky was not replaced?

Is it OK to use someone else skies in your photo or just use one that you created? This is my own sky shot in this photo.

Please give me you opinion in the comments below.

Thanks and have a great Sunday!!

On this stretch of the famous ā€œMother Roadā€ā€”the primary US highway connecting the Midwest and West Coast from the 1920s through the 80s—the road is a pair of roadways—the now unused old road (where I stood to take the picture), which was washed out in several places west of Summit Valley by the floods of 1938, and the ā€œnewā€ road, on the left, built as the original road's replacement. As you can see on the hillside near the center of the image, an enterprising local rancher has cleared away the brush in the form of a ā€œ66ā€ to commemorate the famous highway, across which generations of Americans migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s.

Camera: Falcon Miniature (circa 1938, with Minivar 50mm lens)

Film: Rera Pan 100 127 film, developed in Arista Liquid Developer for 7:45 minutes @ 67 degrees, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.

As the sun sets, it is replaced with rain clouds. They both descend at the same time delivering an eerie and moody scene. The tides too are moving in covering the last bit of land with incoming water.

In all, the scene is changing from one appearance to another. It is now a time of transition with clouds moving in, colors fading, and land replaced with water. It is enjoyable to watch as nature goes through its changes.

Tilled the lawn, scattered a mix of seeds, let anything grow. No regrets.

You know me. Landscapes aren't my thing. So here's a brief deviation from the roadtrip set.

The Palace of Westminster serves as the meeting place for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Informally known as the Houses of Parliament, the Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in the City of Westminster, in central London, England.

Its name, which derives from the neighboring Westminster Abbey, may refer to several historic structures but most often: the Old Palace, a medieval building-complex largely destroyed by fire in 1834, or its replacement, the New Palace that stands today. The palace is owned by the Crown. Committees appointed by both houses manage the building and report to the Speaker of the House of Commons and to the Lord Speaker.

Richard Coeur de Lion is a Grade II listed equestrian statue of the 12th-century English monarch Richard I, also known as Richard the Lionheart, who reigned from 1189 to 1199. It stands on a granite pedestal in Old Palace Yard outside the Palace of Westminster in London, facing south towards the entrance to the House of Lords. It was created by Baron Carlo Marochetti, an Italian sculptor whose works were popular with European royalty and the nobility, though often less well regarded by critics and the artistic establishment. The statue was first produced in clay and displayed at The Great Exhibition in 1851, where it was located outside the west entrance to the Crystal Palace. It was well received at the time and two years later Queen Victoria and Prince Albert headed a list of illustrious subscribers to a fund that aimed to raise money for the casting of the statue in bronze.

I was very excited today to try the new sky replacement tool in Photoshop. This is an image I took in Iceland which had a very dull gray sky. With very little effort, I was able to replace the sky with a more interesting one.

The new tool is very powerful and has features I have yet to learn for minimizing halo's at the horizon.

On1 Photo Raw 2022 has a new sky replacement tool. It just came out today. I got to play with the program in advance and it was a lot of fun. Their new denoise plugin is no joke.

For a bit of fun, the same photo as the previous one but with Luminar 4 sky replacement. I prefer to keep my skies original, but thought this a good one to experiment with.

After our Dolomites hike last September, we spent four nights in Venice, staying in the Cannaregio area. On our first night not far from where we were staying.

I process my photos with Lightroom as well as Skylum's Luminar and find it easy to use with great results. Here is a link if anyone is interested in trying it out and with a $US10 discount: skylum.grsm.io/janetteasche8660

The classic Lake Boat numbers are dwindling and one of the "new" replacements was in town one recent morning. While not a preferred photographic target it was well lit and who knows, someday someone will be looking back at this as one of the "old boats" (if it lasts that long). A bit of a blurred shot, but with the end of Metrobus operation by National Express West Midlands imminent, thought I'd fetch this out of the junk pile, as it's the only shot I've got of an Acocks Green Metro in service.

Nice paint match on the replacement panels. you can see why the silver livery was dropped!

Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project.

The Pattullo Bridge is a key connection between the communities of Surrey and New Westminster. The new toll-free four-lane bridge will provide important improvements for everyone using the bridge, including people who are driving, cycling or walking, as well as communities on either side of the bridge.

Windy morning and young friendly Robin! I didn't chase him he followed me! and he gave me this lovely pose! I hope you like it.

Exactly 6 years later, I swapped my Nikon 200 - 500mm f/5.6 lens with a lightweight 500mm f/5.6 PF (Phase Fresnel)

The obvious advantage of the 500 PF is weight savings as well as smaller size for better handling.Time will tell with the photo quality whether it is worth the wait or not.

Due to my background as a black and white analog photojournalist, I keep abreast of technology changes. Every new model or technical change needs time.

While writing these lines, my first digital camera experience 20 years ago is from the days of Nikon D100, today Advantages of mirrorless cameras 45.7- megapixels shoot with the full-frame the new flagship camera Nikon Z9.

This is an incredible technological advance. I have been using Nikon D850 for about 1.5 years. It is a professional level, 45.7 megapixel, full-frame workhorse.

How long will the Nikon D850 hold this position as a DSLR, it already has a question mark. Nikon rumors are swirling at the moment to give us an idea of where the brand will go next?

Thank you so much for visiting my stream, whether you comments , favorites or just have a look.

I appreciate it very much, wishing the best of luck and good light.
