Sometimes it’s easy to get carried away with our so-called accomplishments. We spend our lifetimes collecting achievements, earning praise and recognition, and seeking approval – so much so that we lose sight of what is truly meaningful.

This handsome male Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus), was seen scanning the vicinity late in the evening. He later stood up and rejoined the rest of the coalition.
Cheetahs normally sit in a vantage point to view the surrounding area for any prey which they are quick to chase down.
This lovely male Cheetah, one of the five from the famous Tano Bora coalition, was captured during a Photography Safari on a late evening game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya.

Taxi to Event:
The original photo was of a sea plane in Alaska. A small plane with pontoons is the way many travel to and from coastal towns and cities in the region. We must have been near the Canadian border, or at least its registration on the side of the plane makes me think that.

It’s a rough and rocky trail that leads to such a beautiful place… the hike up is a little steep to begin with through what seems more trough than trail. You have to hoist yourself over larger rocks through a tunnel of rhododendron for a good way, but then the trail opens up to a large rock shelf… and to this view of aptly named Rough Ridge and Grandfather Mountain beyond.
This is a very popular overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can find it at Milepost 302.8, in North Carolina. It’s an access for the Tanawha Trail that originates at Beacon Heights and ends at Price Lake. To me, it also provides one of the better views of the Linn Cove Viaduct, which can be seen in the distance on the left side of Grandfather. While all you may notice is a bridge, the viaduct is no less than an engineering marvel… its span connects two ends of the Blue Ridge Parkway with minimal impact on the mountain.
Autumn foliage is a huge draw here throughout North Carolina, and no less in this spot… like many others who find this the perfect place to set up a tripod, I know of ways to beat the crowd. One way is to be prepared for any kind of weather, such as you see here… rough, which seems fitting. This is also toward sunset… you can see light pouring through clouds in the distance, which was as good as sunset was going to be on this evening. Yet, I don’t really see how it could have been better, as this light made the colors pop... in this place, rough is no doubt redefined.

It symbolises my feeling regarding recovery. The hands and the poses symbolises how society and people sometimes put a pressure on us to be ‘okay’. To have that ‘i am fine’ facade. The motion in the water symbolises struggle and emotions.
The water/waves representing elements of calm, chaos, unknown depth, drowning, unpredictability, strength.
All this while having the character sat in a pose which is a bit more confident than the original ‘Sextuple Theory’, and symbolising the need to breathe and keeping calm.
I was already planning to go to London on the 18th when I saw the advert for the Paradox Museum in Knightsbridge which was opening on the 17th. Change of plan, got tickets for the museum and went to check it out. The adverts invite you to 'step into a world where nothing makes sense yet everything feels real'. It completely met the brief and was great for fun photography.
With the school holidays starting this week I guess taking photos will be a bit more challenging.

A picture I took in Fira (Santorini, Greece), last summer. It is a long exposure shot and I've repainted some parts of it.
Fira is the modern capital of the Greek Aegean island, Santorini. It is a traditional settlement.
The view from Fira is magnificent, with a unique panorama showing the 18 km long caldera from southern Cape Akrotiri to northern Cape Ag. Nikolaos, plus the volcanic island Nea Kameni at the center with Thirassia Island in the distant west on blue Aegean water.
Fira is a town of white-washed houses built on the edge of the 400 m high caldera on the western edge of the semi-circular island of Thera. The two main museums of interest are the Santorini Archeological Museum, 30 m east of the cable car entrance, and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera at the southeast corner of the White Orthodox Cathedral (with the Greek name meaning Metamorphosis), built on the site of the Ypapanti Church, destroyed in the 1956 earthquake.
Access to Fira is mainly by roads on its eastern side, climbing from its port via the Z-shaped footpath on foot or on donkeys, or by riding the steep cable car from its lower terminal by the port.

Although this is not an actual legal tender coin, it is intrinsic to the use of coinage in England in the late 1700s. The image shows the obverse and reverse of a guinea coinweight from the reign of George III. New legislation came in in 1775 to redefine the weight of a (gold) guinea and these coinweights were used to check coins which were offered in payment. The figures on the reverse show that this weight was 5 pennyweight and 8 grains (24 grains = 1 pennyweight = 0.055 ounces = 1.56 grams) and the peculiar-looking mark stamped between the 5 and the 8 is an (inverted I think) coffee pot, the mark of the Founders Company in London indicating that the coinweight has been checked and certified correct. The weight is 20 mm (3/4") in diameter.

“Murky Atmosphere” is a series in which I explore the singular and sometimes disquieting beauty of landscapes under a sky laden with dark clouds and bad weather.
Through these images, I wanted to show how darkness and gray tones transform familiar settings into mysterious tableaux, where nature reveals another, more secret and bewitching facet.
This play of light and shadow, sometimes almost twilight, lends a heavy, almost dramatic atmosphere that redefines the beauty of these places.
I hope this series will help you rediscover these settings from a new angle, where melancholy and the raw force of the weather create a spectacle that is both striking and captivating.
