What the flip! I'm getting really mad about flickr's sharpening.

PLEASE CLICK L. It looks normal in lightbox.

Yeah. I just spent like two hours on this. I did the entire expansion manually because photoshop hated the angle I got. I'm pretty proud. Although there are still some things I hate about it, it has come a long way. And I need to stop glaring at this photo.

I popped into Viridor hide before heading for home. There was a lovely old lady who had her binoculars trained on these two otters who were heading away.

She very excitedly informed me that they had been playing around with a big fish right outside the hide for about 15 minutes before heading off. "No", she says, " I never bother with a camera" :+))

Another trip to Leighton moss to try and get the beardies on the reeds but we never saw any only heard them, just missing them by minutes it seems. We did see the otter at distance it was very active

Many thanks to you ALL for the views, faves and comments you make on my shots it is very appreciated.

This Barred Owl was treed in heavily leafed Alders by Crows. Not much of a shot but I did get to see it and point it out to others.

Southern Pantanal, Brazil

The sunbittern is a bittern-like bird of tropical regions of the Americas, and the sole member of the family Eurypygidae and genus Eurypyga. It ranges from Guatemala to southern Peru, showing three extant subspecies. Wikipedia

This bird is probably the main reason I want to return to the Pantanal! It's a terrible shot of the most beautiful bird I have ever seen in flight. When flying, it resembles a gorgeous butterfly. We spent hours tracking this bird and waiting for it to fly. Sadly, this was the best shot I managed (Tony got a much better one despite my best endeavours!) Next time I WILL do better!

Met up with some good friends in We Are Defiance (Tragic Hero Records; I shot their music video which will premiere on MTV2 this month!) to also meet Like Moths To Flames (Rise Records) for the photo shoot they booked me for. Some great guys. Give them a listen and catch them on tour.
