The Guildford Council Chambers were reconstructed from a 1900s building. Parts of the wall and stable still stand. An air raid shelter was created by strengthening one room, during World War II. This area remains today and is currently used as the 'strong room'. It has a lowered cement ceiling, cement floor and double brick walls.
Guildford Town Hall and Library, incorporating the Guildford Town Hall, a brick, rendered brick and tile building constructed in 1937 in the Inter-War Art Deco style, and the Guildford Library (former Council Chambers) a brick, rendered brick and zincalume-roofed building built in 1900 and remodelled in 1937 to complement the Town Hall, has cultural heritage significance for the following reasons: The place contains particularly well resolved examples of civic buildings designed or remodelled in the Inter-War Art Deco style. The Guildford Town Hall is a fine example of a town hall designed in this style in the 1930s in Western Australia; The place is a significant example of the work of Eales, Cohen and Fitzhardinge Architects, and in particular of John Fitzhardinge who is credited with the Interwar design and redesign of the two buildings; The place is a visual landmark in its prominent location in the centre of the historic Town of Guildford; The place is representative of the development of local government in the City of Swan region and incorporates civic buildings which represent the growth of local government in the early and mid twentieth century in the State generally. The place forms an integral component of community life in the local government area; and, The car park has the potential through archaeological excavation to provide information on the former convict depot use of the site. The more recent southern end of the outbuilding, eastern entry and covered walkway to the Library, kitchen and other recent fittings to the Town Hall and electrical fittings to the Library are of little cultural heritage significance. The brick wall in the female toilets of the Town Hall and lobby inside the original northern entrance of the Library are intrusive. Plantings of little or no significance are noted in the Conservation Plan.

After catastrophic failure the Cooke Kinic had to be stripped completely. After removing 60 years of dust and cleaning up the helicoid threads it reassembled rather easily and is now smooth as silk, much better than it was before as the problem that led to its downfall must have been there before I got it.

And then there was an explosion under the sea
for years and years no one knew about it
it was silent and in slow motion
and when it rose it gained some speed
slowly but surly, it started lifting up the oceans.
A reconstructed scene inside one of the houses at the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley. Most, if not all of the buildings on this site have been brought here from places all over the Black Country and faithfully rebuilt, which is a remarkable feat in itself. The interiors of houses, shops and workplaces, like the one shown here, have been restored to accurately depict a particular era from history. I regret that I cannot remember which house this was.
I'm sharing this photo because the museum really is a fantastic place to visit, whatever your interests, and I would recommend it to anyone for an excellent day out once things have got back to normal.

Sometime around 1000 A.D., Norse explorers, possibly led by Leif Erikson, established a settlement on the northern tip of Newfoundland. In 1960, the Norwegian archaeologists Helga and Anne Stine Ingstad discovered the site after being led to it by local fisherman George Decker.
The remains of the actual buildings are short distance from the reconstructed village set up by Parks Canada.

Church of Michael Archangel, Arciszewskich str., Gdynia, April 6, 2015
The church is the oldest monument of Gdynia. The first temple in Oksywie was founded in 1124 by prince Świętopełk. Only its western wall remains until today. The church was rebuilt, extended and reconstructed several times.

Vor Frue Kirke (Church of Our Lady) a Cathedral located in Indre By (Inner City) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Construction of the original Collegiate Church of St. Mary began no later than 1187 under archbishop Absalon. The church was located on the highest point near the new town of Havn, later Copenhagen. Named archbishop of Lund in 1178, Absalon accepted only under threat of excommunication.
In 1314, a fire destroyed the limestone church so completely that it was rebuilt in the popular new building material of the day, oversized red brick. The style of building was Gothic, with its typical pointed arches. The rebuilding of the simple church with a long nave and choir continued until 1388.
The Protestant Reformation was hard on St. Mary's. Citizens of Copenhagen had elected to follow Luther, but Roman Catholic officials at St Mary's tried to maintain the church as a centre of Catholic resistance to change in Copenhagen. By royal decree both Roman Catholic and Lutheran priests were commanded to use the church jointly, which incensed most of the Copenhagen's population. On 27 December 1530 hundreds of citizens stormed St. Mary's, destroying every statue and dismantling the choir stalls.
Lightning strikes damaged the church in 1573 and 1585, and some of the vaulting, tower, and roof collapsed after the resulting fires. The tower was eventually demolished but rebuilt by 1609.
The medieval proto-cathedral was destroyed by a four-day-long conflagration in October 1728 which destroyed a third of the city. All the many chapels and eighty epitaphs commemorating some of Denmark's most prominent nobles and wealthy parishioners vanished.
A decade later, the church was reconstructed, essentially on the same plan as the medieval church, in red brick with a simple long nave and rounded choir added at the end and ornate sandstone doorways beneath the spire. The interior combined Gothic and with the ornate Baroque style of the time.
In September 1807, the cathedral fell victim to the bombardment of Copenhagen by the British Royal Navy under Admiral James Gambier (1756–1833) during the Napoleonic Wars. The British demanded the surrender of the Danish Fleet and the city. The Danes refused, but with most of the army on the Schleswig-Holstein border, the city was nearly defenceless.
For three days the fleet bombarded the city and coastal forts. British gunners used the tower of Our Lady Church for range practice, setting it ablaze, which in turn burned the church to the ground, along with nearby sections of Copenhagen. Copenhagen surrendered and the fleet was turned over to the British.

Lojsta Hall is a reconstructed Iron Age building. It is built on the remaining foundation of an 30 by 16 m (98 by 52 ft) Iron Age house. The site was excavated in 1929 by John Nihlén. The archeological finds were few and not very remarkable, but they suggest that the house had been inhabited during the Migration Period (about 400 AD). Inside the remains of the foundation, parts of two log boats were found.
In 1932, a reconstruction of the building was erected, showing how the building might have looked during the Iron Age. The people and their animals probably lived together in the hall. The inhabitants raised livestock, but trade was also an important part of their livelihood. The roof of the hall is covered with saw-sedge, a common plant on the Gotlandic mires.

Fantoft Stave Church (Norwegian: Fantoft stavkirke) is a reconstructed stave church in the Fana borough of the city of Bergen, Norway.
The church was originally built in Fortun in Sogn, a village near inner or eastern end of Sognefjord around the year 1150. In the 19th century the church was threatened by demolition, as were hundreds of other stave churches in Norway. The church was bought by consul Fredrik Georg Gade and saved by moving it in pieces to Fantoft near (now in) Bergen in 1883.
On 6 June 1992 the church was destroyed by arson, the first in a series of church burnings related to the early Norwegian black metal scene. The fire was initially thought to have been caused by lightning or an electrical failure. The burnt remains of the church appear on the cover of the 1993 Burzum album Aske (Norwegian for Ashes). According to Varg Vikernes, the sole member of Burzum, the church was burned as an act of retaliation against Christianity for placing a church on sacred, pagan grounds.[1]
Reconstruction of an exact copy of the church was promptly initiated, and completed in 1997. Outside the church stands a stone cross from Tjora in Sola.

We were out of luck. After reconstructing the society, or what was left of it, we, a group of 8 people, decided to build a little camp near a small town.
A big shield saying "HELP" was built right on top of a big dirty dead swamp. We thought that might be a good opportunity to get noticed. After we set up a small wall that should keep the animals away, we decided to take a look around. We didn't find much thought, but still the place was safe enough to stay for a while. There were 3 big buildings, an old NASA museum, nothing special and the whole place was destroyed.2nd building was an old hospital, same with that one, dead and empty, the train had kept some food ready for us ! The 3rd building was a very old house that had some nice architecture, we found a piano and some tents, better then nothing I guess.
Wonder how long we'll manage to keep alive,
O'connor out.

The Apocalypse was a true disaster, dead people everywere, broken buildings everywere, our lives where distroyed. We had nothing left. The only thing we could do was survive, not an easy job if you ask me. I didn't have a house. Most of my friends were dead. On the way to survive I met some people and together we looked for more survivors, food, water and a life. We made ourself a camp in a old factory that was still standing. We got ourselves some vehicles for faster transport. Everyday we hope for a better life. And I still have hope that one day, we can live in pease together.
The Hôtel de Ville de Paris has been the seat of the Paris City Council since 1357. The current building, with a neo-renaissance style, was built by architects Théodore Ballu and Edouard Deperthes.
« Paris’ Hôtel de Ville (City Hall) is situated on the Right Bank, just across from the eastern end of the Île de la Cité. It contains the official apartments of the mayor of Paris. Three city halls have stood on the site of the present building, each grander than its predecessor. The first was the House of Pillars (Maison aux Piliers), used by the municipality from 1357 to 1533. » (1)
« During the year 1872 , the second iteration of the Hôtel de Ville was set on fire during a protest, destroying most of its interior and being left as an empty stone shell. The reconstruction of the hall commenced on 1873 and lasted through to 1892. Two architects by the names of Théodore Ballu and Édouard Deperthes won a public commission and were granted the project of reconstructing the building. The architects completely changed the design of the building’s interior. The structure now took on a lavish design that is representative of 1880s style.(2)
« The building is decorated with 108 statues, representing famous Parisians. Thirty other statues represent French cities. The clock at the central tower is adorned with several feminine sculptures representing the Seine River, the city of Paris, 'Work' and 'Education'. » (3)
The building is a notable structure which has played a role in numerous historical events. In recent history, one in particular stands out, the famous speech delivered by Charles de Gaulle during the liberation of Paris on August 25th, 1944. » (2)

Copán is an archaeological site of the Maya civilization located in the Copán Department of western Honduras, not far from the border with Guatemala. It was the capital city of a major Classic period kingdom from the 5th to 9th centuries AD. The city was located in the extreme southeast of the Mesoamerican cultural region, on the frontier with the Isthmo-Colombian cultural region, and was almost surrounded by non-Maya peoples.
In this fertile valley now lies a city of about 3000, a small airport, and a winding road.
Copán was occupied for more than two thousand years, from the Early Preclassic period right through to the Postclassic. The city developed a distinctive sculptural style within the tradition of the lowland Maya, perhaps to emphasize the Maya ethnicity of the city's rulers.
The city has a historical record that spans the greater part of the Classic period and has been reconstructed in detail by archaeologists and epigraphers. Copán, probably called Oxwitik by the Maya, was a powerful city ruling a vast kingdom within the southern Maya area. The city suffered a major political disaster in AD 738 when Uaxaclajuun Ub'aah K'awiil, one of the greatest kings in Copán's dynastic history, was captured and executed by his former vassal, the king of Quiriguá. This unexpected defeat resulted in a 17-year hiatus at the city, during which time Copán may have been subject to Quiriguá in a reversal of fortunes.
A significant portion of the eastern side of the acropolis has been eroded away by the Copán River, although the river has since been diverted in order to protect the site from further damage.
Reconstructed Pueblo. This house was rebuilt in 1920 to provide an example of what a typical structure was like when this site was occupied more than 500 years ago. Bandelier National Monument. Los Alamos Co., New Mexico.
I finally reconstructed my joint/2nd Self-MOC, Valkyrion. This would be V3. Very apart from the previous ones, imo.
