In a realm cloaked in the folds of whimsy, nestled the land of Plushshire, where the sentient stufflings—Stufflepuffs and Tedwardians—dwelt in a fabric-bound fraternity. This was until the day the Revolt of the Cuddly Toys unfurled, stitching dissent between the Hoppington Hares of Fluffborough and the Bearington Bears of Pawston.

Our plush protagonist, Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, was a Bearwardian of great renown. His valor was famed throughout the Tusslemeadows of Thimbleton, and in the fray, he became threadbare, a hero frayed but not defeated.

Sir Cuddleton, knight of the revered Wovenkeep, possessed knowledge of the arcane Twirlwinds—a spellthread capable of reweaving the most tattered of toy souls. In his recovery, tended by the crafty paws of Madam Purlina Webwhisker, the sage of Seams, Patchworthy contemplated the raveled threads of war.

The Neverolds, eternal children of Plushshire, observed the fray through teary glass eyes. In their wisdom, they conceived a plot most playful: the Larkspur Labyrinth, a playground so beguiling that no stuffed soldier could resist its siren song of serenity. Here, in this haven of hilarity, the disheartened warriors laid down their cotton cudgels and embraced their erstwhile enemies.

Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, now adorned with the emblem of empathy began his most important quest. He traversed Plushshire, from the cushiony hills of Napvale to the silken sands of Drowsy Dunes, spinning tales of solace and stitching unity into the fabric of every toy's being.

And so, the yarn of the Revolt of the Cuddly Toys unwound to an uneasy stillness. Plushshire was suspended in a delicate balance, as if the very air held its breath. Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, erstwhile warrior, now dubbed 'The Tranquil,' became a legend in hush tones and half-whispers.

For in the shadows of playtime's joy and the soft echoes of laughter, there lingered a thread of unease. The Neverolds knew, as all who've watched the cycle of tales unfold, that darkness can restitch itself anew. And as the moonlight danced upon the Larkspur Labyrinth, they wondered quietly: would the stitches of peace hold, or would they unravel in the silent whispers of the night?

Northern coast of Spain, from the Basque region, through Cantabria and ending in Asturias, has been on my mind for a long time and it was great that were able to travel there last year. Coast unlike any I have seen so far with big cliffs, many different rock formations, jagged shores and beautiful beaches. So familiar in principle to an Australian and yet so very different to the coastlines that I have seen at home. This is a moody long exposure from Barrika near Blibao.

A fantastic view of the swiss alps this fall during a fantastic afternoon with my friend Gianluca Podestà.

The majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps are definitely worthy to be the scenery of an epic tale.

The Sublime Realm of Pale di San Martino

Lo! Before my eyes, a citadel of rock and ice, where Earth’s firmament weds the heavens, rising in solemn majesty above the sleeping vales below. The Pale di San Martino, ancient and unshaken, stands in the dying glow of autumn’s tender light, as if kissed by the final breath of day. The setting sun, golden and reverent, drapes these towering spires in a robe of amber and fire, while the last wisps of wandering cloud, ghostly and ethereal, cling to the craggy bastions as if reluctant to part with the timeless embrace of these hallowed heights.

Here, the hand of time has sculpted grandeur unbowed by the centuries, where once, in ages long past, seas murmured their gentle lullabies over the slumbering depths of limestone now uplifted to the vaults of the sky. In the quiet cradle of these peaks, the spirits of ancient shepherds whisper on the wind, and the echoes of mountaineers—bold hearts who dared to defy the abyss—linger in the silent corridors of stone.

And lo, the forests below, a river of copper and gold, each tree a sentinel to the passage of time! How they bow before the grandeur of these Dolomites, their rustling voices weaving hymns of autumn’s fleeting beauty. In their midst, the shadows lengthen, a solemn dirge for the year that wanes, for the frost that soon shall claim the land, and for the transience of all things mortal.

Yet these peaks endure, steadfast, unyielding, like watchmen of eternity, their summits crowned in ice that neither weeps nor wanes. The Pale di San Martino—named by men, yet belonging only to the heavens—bears silent witness to the ebb and flow of empires, to the rise and fall of nations, and to the unrelenting march of time itself.

Oh, to stand here, in the breath of the mountain, is to know the weight of the infinite! To feel, in the marrow of one’s soul, the grandeur of Creation, and to be but a fleeting whisper upon the wind, lost among the towering halls of stone.

Well, I have a lot to say about this one. It's actually almost still a WIP! Inside beneath the temple complex we have a mosaic of an Ancient Aztec god, but for me that wasn't good enough because I needed more cheese slopes. And need I mention the four footed base I had to put this on? There were ways to have done that so well! I know I missed them, so far. I'll just have to grin and bear it!

Hope you enjoy the temple tho! This was built for Style it up! It had to support itself on just four studs. I still have a few things to work out on the temple and details to arrange, but for now it's worth noting that the top also has interior details visible through the doors, although they are in the shadows. More photos of that and the rest to come! Any advice is welcome :) .

Haven't been on here much lately, but I did manage a trip to Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio this past weekend. It was good to get the cobwebs out of the camera.

This was taken in Old Man's Cave, one of many caves in the park. It was named for Richard Rowe, a hermit who lived in the large recess cave in this gorge in the late 1700's. He's actually buried somewhere in the cave.

Another from the series, the rest will be posted later in the year (when we get more fog)!

I was out trying to capture a good sunset this evening but I couldn't seem to locate a suitable angle! Thinking that all was lost and about to retreat I actually came across and figured out that this large pool of water might act as a mirror for me to compose this moody sunset reflection on, so here is the outcome, dark, misty and has "another realm" sort of look to it

Raindrops keep falling on my lens -

But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red

Yes those dots on the photo are raindrops ,they were all over it but managed to remove the worst of them, that's the price you pay for not having a lens hood I guess

Thank you for your comments, suggestions and favorites.

Enjoy, Mario.

The completely frozen Jokulsarlon lagoon with it's icebergs and the mighty Breiðamerkurjökull glacier in the background...quite a sight...:)!

The land on the far left is Raasay, which lies between the Scottish Mainland and the Isle of Skye. The water off to the right is the entrance to Loch Portree and then Portree Harbor. The whole region is a big spot for golden eagles and sea eagles, and we saw quite a few, though--having only a phone cameras--I took no photos of them.
