Dawn Brown, WWL-TV meteorologist, was the special guest of the morning to do the annual reading. This year's reading was "All In The Golden Afternoon" by Lewis Carroll.
She is very proud that she's reading chapter books. She'll plow through a Magic Treehouse book but won't retain any of it. Cam Jansen mysteries, though, are the best.
Gene & Marianne are appraisers of music ephemera. Here we're reading a letter from Eleanor Roosevelt to Leopold Mannes, who was a composer who also was one of the two inventors of Kodachrome. The letter is inviting the Mannes' to a party she is having for Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Lash -- who later became her biographer.
Gene was sorting letters by content -- into a music pile and a photography pile.

Our staff are leaning against the rough in for a fireplace to make the reading room a warm and cozy place to relax. The room is open to the second level bringing in tons of natural light.
Met a kind old Korean man in the shade reading Shakespeare (in English.) I spoke with him for ten or so minutes answering his questions about some of the words. He asked not to have his picture taken, but he offered his table as a subject. Nice man.
This set of images was taken in Gloucester whilst on a day's photoshoot with the regional RPS Documentary and Visual Journalism Group. The theme was 'Saturday in Gloucester'. Street Photography is all about 'catching the moment'...allowing the viewer to capture something of the emotion and experience expressed in the photograph. Sometimes images may involve people going about their business...and in other cases, aspects of the local environment capture the intention of the photographer equally well.
I've been wanting a chair for a while so I can get better light for reading and sewing. Now i have inherited the perfect chair thanks to my father in law......thanks dad x
