A super wide view of Nymphenburg Palace as seen from the east with some impressive clouds above.
Schloss Nymphenburg is a palace located in the west of Munich and one of the main tourist attractions of the city, with yearly over 300,000 visitors,
The palace is the main summer residence of the House of Wittelsbach, former rulers of Bavaria.
Commisioned in 1664, the central building in the style of an Italian Villa was completed in 1675. Gradually the sides were added and the current appearance was reached in 1716.

For some that phrase would describe their eyes after a late night of partying and ringing in the New Year. For me on this first morning of the 20s, it meant first-light reaching Towers of the Virgin in Zion National Park.
Being a native East-Coaster, who has transplanted to life on the West Coast, I still feel that the New Year occurs when the crystal ball drops in New York, and that's the end. So, with the aide of staid Springdale, Utah, it was easy to get an early bedtime on New Years Eve so we could begin the trek to the Canyon Overlook Trail at 6:00 AM to catch first-light and sunrise from this vantage.
The trail is a relatively flat mile hike with a few tricky spots where the ice and slickrock conspire to give even the most sure-footed concern in the dark. Once we reached the overlook, I was a little concerned that our cold trek may have been for naught, due to the heavy cloud cover. Though they were thick overhead, there still was some clearing to the East, along the sun on the horizon to light a narrow band, reflecting off the cloud bottoms and warming the sheer rocks faces of the Temple of the Virgin ahead. This image was captured about 10-15 minutes before the local sunrise time, and is considerably brighter than what we saw with our eyes, due to the 20-second exposure.
Once the actual sun rays reached the Temple directly, the light only lit the areas seen here in red for less than 5 minutes before disappearing above the clouds for the remainder of the day.

The dogwood tree in our yard is so tall, and the flowers are all at the top of the tree, so I had to use my long lens to capture them.

The weather was shower off and on with sun breaks, so yesterday, I shot in our yard. Fortunately, the birds responded well to each sun break, becoming quite active during each. This Townsend's warbler made repeated visits to our plum blossoms, affording multiple occasions to capture him. This specific move was repeated a few times: perching on a branch, then fluttering to reach for another, but returning to the perched position on the original.
Reaching out!..

You all have a great day!.
Thank you all for your wonderful comments!.
The lake in the heart of the hiking, running and mountainbiking mountain area Corviglia can be used as an oasis of relaxation or as a running track for the individual altitude training.
The lake of Lej Alv above Marguns captures and stores the water that flows down the mountain and the Val Schlattain during the snow melt. In winter the lake is used as a reservoir for the artificial snow on the mountainside; in summer it provides a wonderful excursion destination for runners, mountain bikers and hikers. You can reach the lake via the mountain station of the Marguns gondola or the mountain station at the Corviglia funicular. Given the altitude, swimming in the lake is an option for hard-core bathers only; but its shores do provide a delightful relaxed setting for a picnic lunch as you take in the views of the Engadin mountains and savour the crisp mountain air.
A wonderfully clear day with scudding clouds flying along on a brisk wind. Combine that with a mirror like expanse of beach and they are my perfect conditions for lifting the gloom of dreary days. Loneliness was never as much fun. Reaching is by Jeffrey Lewis. It was just a question of waiting for the clouds to reach me.

The Golden Gate Bridge stretches from the San Francisco Peninsula to the Marin Headlands at the entrance to San Francisco Bay.
Our hunt in the Boreal forests north of Quebec city gave us 5 sightings of porcupines. Here is one that was out in the open; walking down the side of a gravel logging road that we were driving on.
I drove out past him and then laid on the opposite shoulder of the road and awaited his approach. ((hoping he wouldn't cut off into the woods before he reached my location ))
