The City Job normally draws an EMD RCO unit, occasionally there will be two units. On this day, a lack of available RCO equipped locos meant the City had a pair of 6 axle GE's for the short trip across the bridge to East Grand Forks and the American Crystal Sugar plant and "Spud Row" customers. The weather was typical of our winter so far, overcast and little snow.

This RCO operation was fun to watch, they use these units to pull cars out of the classification tracks onto the outbound tracks to make up new trains.

On the caboose to the right is a RCO operator moving rail section cars by remote control from the rear of the line up.

This is a well choreographed operation that boggles the mind. Watching these unmaned engines move around is amazing.

1908年Rachmaninov 第一次造訪美國，用心創作出第三號鋼琴協奏曲，並在紐約首演，大為轟動，但因為整體的困難度太高，一度以為無法演奏，後來就有「最困難的鋼琴協奏曲」之名，是不是最困難？這不好說，但是不容易完美演繹是實話。歷史上的名盤也很多，相信大家或多或少都有一兩張，我特別喜歡第三號鋼琴協奏曲的第一樂章，有點像是歌唱的方式，把旋律線鋪陳得很優美，同時斯拉夫民族的味道，也貫穿其中，第二和第三樂章通常會一起演奏，中間不停止，最後在一個高潮當中結束，在演奏會中，是相當受歡迎的曲目。Gergiev是傳統俄國培養的精英指揮（Gergiev常被翻譯為葛濟夫，在這邊多說兩句，俄文的發音其實比較接近「傑傑耶夫」），他在俄國的指揮體系當中慢慢成長，成名之後，也陸陸續續和西方的各個樂團合作。目前是Mariinsky 劇院和Bolshoi 劇院的總監，在2013年之前，也領導過鹿特丹交響樂團和慕尼黑愛樂，但是因為不願意公開說明，對於俄羅斯和烏克蘭戰爭的立場，西方紛紛扺制他的演出。他對樂團的要求極為嚴格，外號「沙皇」，傾向於不使用指揮棒，靠雙手和身體的語言領導樂團，曾經有一次搞笑，拿出一隻牙籤來指揮，後來就有「牙籤指揮」外號。Gergiev和西方的樂團合作的次數雖然多，但是留下來的錄音作品不多，幾乎都是精品。烏茲別克新銳鋼琴家Behzod Abduraimov貝佐德，拜師Stanislav Ioudenitch，這一位可是第11屆Van Cliburn大賽金牌得主，強將手下無弱兵，Behzod Abduraimov基礎打得相當紮實，雖然年齡不算老，但是有相當多對音樂的體悟，他說過：「一定要用心讀樂譜，了解作曲家要說什麼，否則就和一台機器人彈鋼琴沒兩樣」。這一張2017年，由阿姆斯特丹大會堂管弦樂團演奏，並發行的錄音，Behzod Abduraimov用一個比較慢的速度，把整個旋律線拉得很長，樂團的控制很好，聲音非常的整齊，Gergiev的樂團紀律還是可以期待的。

音效方面，這是一個遠距離的錄音，連鋼琴都是遠距離，整體的比例是相當接近真實，我們大約是住在音樂廳30排的位置，可以推測這是現場錄音的擺位，不能說音響效果登峰造極，但是以現場錄音來講，算是相當的好，音場較為後退，以整體的融合音為主。這一類由管弦樂團自己發售的唱片，保留了許多珍貴的片段，但錄音水準不及大的唱片公司來的穩定，像柏林愛樂的錄音、蕭邦鋼琴大賽的錄音、馬林斯基劇院的錄音都是如此。
