RCA Victor created the 7" 45 rpm album format roughly the same time as Columbia created the 33 1/3 rpm Long Playing format. It was a format war but both won. With the rise of the Teenager and Rock n Roll, 7" singles were massive, as were LPs.

This is a restored autochanger (very fast change from 7" to 7" in sequence) that originally was mains powered with valves/tubes, but now battery powered with a compact solid state amplifier inside.

Orpheus is a 4 x 7" album. hence why sometimes an LP is also called an album.
