This is the beginning of a "snow event" we are expecting this week. The forecast is for 1 to 2 feet of snow by tomorrow afternoon, and continuing snow off and on through Christmas.
The most snow we have experienced since moving to the mountain was an accumulation of 8" to 10". This should be interesting!!

In the past two weeks, we have had 12 days of measurable rain. More predicted for the next few days.

Pink and standing on stilts - like its namesake - this was among the eight pilot projects that launched the Eisenhower-era ''Mission 66'' national park infrastructure program, conceived to rejuvenate the system in time for its 50th anniversary in 1966.
The program's choice of architectural style - dubbed ''Park Service Modern'' - marked a clean break from the traditional log-and-stone rusticity that had, by that time, become synonymous with park structures.
The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The brutalist Welbeck Street Car Park in Central London. Built in the early 1970's.
Note dated 7 March 2017. This building is sadly due to close on 13 March 2017. It's fate is unknown. Many people, including me, are hoping that it will not be demolished.
Update April 2019: This building is, sadly, currently in the process of being demolished.
