Drove by this handsome bird on the way to town. He didn't seem to mind the truck stopping and the window coming down to take his picture. So here he is, a beautiful Raven, standing on a gravel road. He's such a ham!

I managed to capture this portrait of this Raven at the Hope Slide site where it had been forced to the ground by a pair of crows.
You can see ravens (Corvus corax) everywhere in Yellowstone - they are very common, but that doesn't make these clever birds less interesting or less beautiful. This one shared a bench with me for quite a while.
I heard him from far away and there I spotted him

I have always loved trying to get a glimpse of them
I saw the occasional seabird in Scoresby Sund, mostly gulls and not that often. So I was pleased to see a raven (Corvus corax) vocalizing on Danmark Ø. It was perched on the rocky coast with a large iceberg in the background , Scoresby Sund, East Greenland.

I have exactly six images of ravens, and I must say that I'm not unhappy with any of them! Not exactly self-congratulatory, but I have to say that when a Raven stands still for three seconds, you can't miss. (Well, I can't.)
We have no Ravens in the Diablo Valley. Probably too much competition for the crows and other Corvids. I think they're beautiful: it's a shame that all six of my triumphs have been in six different national parks in the west. This large one was strutting his stuff at the edge of the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone NP in Wyoming.
A raven is any of several larger-bodied passerine bird species in the genus Corvus. These species do not form a single taxonomic group within the genus. There is no consistent distinction between crows and ravens. Names are assigned to different species chiefly based on their size.
The largest raven species are the common raven and the thick-billed raven; these are also the largest passerine species. The term "raven" originally referred to the common raven (Corvus corax), the type species of the genus Corvus, which has a larger distribution than any other species of Corvus, ranging over much of the Northern Hemisphere.
We have encountered this Raven many times on one particular trail in Algonquin Park. Ravens are very intelligent birds and he has learned that people might mean food and they certainly don't mean danger. Even in a large group of hikers on a guided hike, he just stood patiently by as the Park Naturalist gave a little talk. His girlfriend is a bit shy and she called from a far off tree.

Raven craved hugs from humans. She leaned into me at one point and I held her head with my heated gloves. She closed her eyes and settled into my thigh. I thought she was going to fall asleep. When I released her, she snuck up to this little human and leaned into her who automatically gave Raven the “head hug”. It was all so seamless and natural. No one could resist Raven.

I just love Raven's, they're so cool.
Just coming out of the dentist office after having a tooth extracted, in Paradise,Ca. Before I could get back in the truck, 2 or 3 of these beautiful birds landed just a few feet from me. So while they were arguing about something, whatever it is Raven's argue about, I walked slowly over to the pick-up and grabbed my trusty Nikon and got several nice shots of this one bird. Very photogenic, I must say...

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Due to the interest in the previous Raven building shot, here is how the magic works.
I have not idea how much calculation is going on here, but the bird held, and twisted the stick to match the position where it was needed.
How clever are Ravens? Hardly worth asking the question.
The pair flew in and out most of the morning with building material.
