This rather noisy bird was busy hiding in the Holly Berry tree and I had quite a time getting a shot. This was the best one. I guess he did not want to be disturbed while he was nibbling on the red berries.

I rather liked the effect of stained glass windows reflecting on the stones of this old church. The Church is in the village of Saint-Cirq Lapopie in the department of Lot in France.

Below is a shot of the exterior of the little church

Rather than leave the roadside edge of his field of barley as grass, the farmer has sown a ten foot wide strip of wildflowers (Pictorial Mix) down the entire edge of his crop. This provides nectar and pollen for a host of insects. Barlow, Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District.

Rather large, spectacular hummingbird of humid tropical lowlands that favors forest edges, adjacent clearings with scattered trees and flowering bushes, and gardens. Feeds at all levels, often in the canopy, hovering with its tail cocked and occasionally opening it to show extensive white. Male has deep blue hood, green upperparts with white collar (often hard to see), white underparts, and mostly white tail. Some females look similar to males while others look very different, with dark spotting below and a mostly green tail with white tips.

This rather tame, active, crested little bird is common all year in eastern forests, where its whistled peter-peter-peter song may be heard even during mid-winter thaws. It is related to the chickadees, and like them it readily comes to bird feeders, often carrying away sunflower seeds one at a time. Feeders may be helping it to expand its range: in recent decades, Tufted Titmice have been steadily pushing north.

I appreciate every comment very much, thank you for watching!

Went for a rather dark treatment for this shot. Just trying something different :) However if you think it is too dark, pls do let me know. I think I have changed the way I used to look at colours... just not sure how good or bad it is now

This rather small cormorant is fairly common along rocky coasts where it feeds mainly in inshore waters. Nests colonially on cliffs and other steep surfaces, sometimes on jetties.

Rather rabbit in the thick of things - My first rabbit sighting in the okanagan (actually it was my wife who spotted him - the keeper of the bear spray) He ducked back into the thicket after i got off my bike - then decided to grant me a few more shots. I'm going to guess a cottontail until someone corrects me.

Thank you for visiting. The images in this photostream are the work of a collective rather a single person. We are unable to respond to each comment or request but very thankful for viewing our photostream.

Seemingly the collective noun for a group of flamingos is a 'Flamboyance'. This group like my other recent photographs of Greater Flamingos was taken at the coastal lagoons just north of Korba on the Cap Bon Peninsular in Tunisia.

I feel that a they look so unhurried, calm and stately.

If there were just a rare pair rather than thousands making themselves a nuisance, we would probably appreciate their beauty more.

Rather late this year. I didn't see any before Christmas as I would normally expect.

This scene has changed rather dramatically over the years. The date is August 13, 1968, and train #17, the westbound California Zephyr is pulling out of Denver Union Station at 08:20 behind five F-units. The CB&Q brought the train into town from Chicago, and the Rio Grande will deliver it to the Western Pacific at Salt Lake City for the remainder of the journey to Oakland, California.

To the left of the Zephyr, a Burlington Alco switcher has coupled to the rear of the inbound Denver Zephyr to take it to the coach yard. Photo by Joe McMillan.

A rather damaged looking Speckled wood butterfly.

The speckled wood (Pararge aegeria) prefers to live in damp, dark woodlands. Unlike other butterflies, it's more active in shadier habitats rather than sunny ones. Males often fight over a perch, spiraling up to the treetops until they determine a winner. These perches are where the males find passing females.

Hurray I am back online. The move went ok, still got a few boxes to unpack but I am ready for Christmas as well so rather pleased about that.

What a great welcome back from everyone and also an added bonus this has gone straight into Explore, so thanks all!!!!

Young, hungry starling

Sort of cute, rather darling

Ready to be fed

Rather unworried bird actually in the Marina - hence close to the boat.

Taz losing her winter coat. How interesting the colour change.

This photo was taken mid-September and now Taz has completely lost her winter coat is is looking rather sleek in all black.

A rather bleak looking scene on the limestone pavement of Keld Head Scar, looking south over Lonsdale. The River Twiss winding its way down to the waterfalls of Ingleton down in the valley on the left.

These two hardy trees caught my eye and I thought they were worth capturing. It must be quite a struggle just existing up here and it had me wondering how old they were! It is amazing how they manage to survive on this harsh Karst landscape, exposed to the elements and prevailing westerly winds.

I had ended up here at the end of the shortish winters Dales day out with fellow Flickr pal John Bleakley. We scouted around this escarpment before returning to the mighty "Cheese Press Stones", to capture them in the late light.

Rather than sit and wait for the Fast 5 cheetahs to catch their dinner, we left for camp and were rewarded with this sighting of Saba. She sat surveying her domain, then got up and walked slowly right toward us. Saba is a female leopard, not often sighted.

Rather attractive but presumably a pest, these seeds ready to fly off.

From the other side of the Atlantic Ocean I peacefully landed with Her on the ground of the main Atrium of Kelvingrove.

She is a brave fighter,a classic WW II Supermarine Spitfire in a rather unusual position of being on the ground, rather than in the air.Kelvingrove Galley & Museum opened in 1901 as the Palace of Fine Arts in the Glasgow International Exhibition and it is the most visited museum in the United Kingdom outside of London. It houses an eclectic mix of world-class fine art exhibits, archeological artifacts & natural history displays.

A rather variable species but this is a lovely "textbook" one, found by Rockwolf. In contrast to the last upload, this is Britain's largest ladybird species, at 8 or 9mm long.

Attingham Park, Shropshire.

These rather odd-looking birds are common across large sections of Southern and Central Africa. splitting up into breading pairs during the breeding season.

Although they can fly for short distances, they are mainly terrestrial and will run, rather than fly when startled.

They move in flocks of up to 40 birds during the non-breeding season,

I'm rather fond of this shot, as it's both 'straight out of camera' (rare for me, I know) and taken out of the car window at 60 KPH! (No, I wasn't driving.) You might observe that while at a glance it appears to be a B&W image, there is actually colour in the photo.

A rather inviting bistro on the lovely Piazza di Spagna in Pienza, unfortunately not open yet this early in the morning.

Not officially a storm chase, this severe thunderstorm scooted just to the west of Elm Creek Nebraska. I couldn't resist!

It has been a rather long wait cycle for storms here in South Central Nebraska. Most of all of the action has been around us but never close enough for my ability to chase them this year. So you can about imagine when this was coming close that I wouldn't miss this opportunity.

Its the first true firing of storms here in south central Nebraska and that means the season has finally started. Can't wait for the next events which will be this coming week!

I know this Goose for years, he, I think he is a he, he comes running, rather swimming when I call Goosie, Goosie !!! His wife is already sitting on eggs !!! She always stays back !!!

I have burned bridges a time or two, I would rather walk away head held high than to prolong anything that isn't serving me. Spent a lot of time learning self care and boundaries, if those boundaries get crossed, into the pile of discards you go. My peace is worth more than your presence. Sorry not sorry...

Billie Eilish - You Should See Me in a Crown

Bite my tongue, bide my time

Wearing a warning sign

Wait 'til the world is mine

Visions I vandalize

Cold in my kingdom size

Fell for these ocean eyes

You should see me in a crown

I'm gonna run this nothing town

Watch me make 'em bow

One by one by one

One by one by

You should see me in a crown

Your silence is my favorite sound

Watch me make 'em bow

One by one by one

One by one by one

Count my cards, watch them fall

Blood on a marble wall

I like the way they all

Scream

Tell me which one is worse

Living or dying first

Sleeping inside a hearse

I don't dream

You say

Come over baby

I think you're pretty

I'm okay

I'm not your baby

If you think I'm pretty

You should see me in a crown

I'm gonna run this nothing town

Watch me make 'em bow

A rather wet and dull day sat in a hide, the wildlife lifted the day.

On this rather windy afternoon, His Royal Spoonbill was clearly not in the mood for portrait photography—or any photography, to be precise. After capturing about 10 photos, I decided to leave him to his royal sulking. (-;

As the shadows were quickly encroaching (after all, mid-September is rather late in the year for this vantage point), this empty oil train from Zollikofen to the Crissier Refinery at Cornaux is passing by behind Re 620 008. Twann/Ligerz, 17-09-2020.

A rather half-baked attempt at one of those think tanks. I could've really made this a lot better, but eh, I think it'd be wiser to spend that extra time studying instead.

Regardless, I hope you enjoy it! And please ignore that horrible gap in the back.

Back in the day, seems it was much easier to notify... interesting Delaware and Hudson sign found at Reading outer Staqtion.

Another shot of this staircase.

As I was chasing after a bunch of small birds flitting around in a nearby bush with my camera, I realized I was being observed.

This handsome Cooper Hawk was keeping a close eye on me (although I think he was probably more interested in the little birds I was photographing ).

I walked under the willow tree to get a few pictures of him, and he gave me this rather haughty look before off.

After a rather good morning in Atlanta with K444 & P52, I headed north for Etowah, TN to grab W024, a loaded welded rail train with a SD50-3 leading a SD40-2. After waiting over 3 days to leave Etowah, it finally got a crew late in the afternoon & started to head south for Atlanta. Here, we see it on the north side of Chatsworth with the last pocket of sunshine for the day lighting it up. You know you're having a good day when an SD50 leader in 2021 is not at the top of your priority list, even if there were only 4 of them active on CSX at the time that this was shot.

Weekend impegnatissimo, sarò più off che on. Saluti stellari :D
