Aston Martin Rapide.
We saw a Rapide when we drove in Frankfurt am Main and after a terrible night at the Novotel there we opened our window and we saw this Rapide.
We took our stuff and had a look at the car before going to the IAA.

Yashica's first half frame camera. Introduced at Photokina and featured in an article In the Jan 1961 issue of US Camera,
Photokina is the European version of our PMA or PDN. It is usually the largest photographic venue of the 3. To call it a trade show seems to diminish it.

McKeown reckons (without giving any evidence) this camera was made in France under licence by Tirany. I think he is mistaken here and that it was built in Birmingham, England by Coronet along with the very similar Coronet Clipper. (Besides which it says Made in England on the camera)
Fixed Focus.
Dates to the 1950s
It is so badly misnamed that it is comic. Despite being called the "Rapide" neither the shutter nor the lens are "fast". (the exact opposite actually)
There were more than three versions of the Rapide that I have seen; this is the one with the shutter button on the top housing. (The trigger next to the lens that could be mistaken for the shutter button actually cocks the shutter)

The Prakticoronet Rapide in all its flaccid glory!
I just need to create a proper mount for it now...
So what about the photos...
European Go Congress, Bordeaux (France) 2011. It is a nice seki, isn't it?
