Since I made it this far, can't stop now. There's a will and a way and I got the know-how. To be all I can be and more. And see all there is to see before. I'm called to go back to the essence. It's a lot to learn so I study my lessons...“

It ain't where you're from, it's where ya at... “

„... My Reality is just fucked up... Planet Earth, was my place of birth … But it seems like I'm locked in hell... I stand alone and need nothin' to lean on... It ain't where you're from, it's where ya at... An diesem Punkt fängt meine Verrücktheit an... Since I made it this far, can't stop now. There's a will and a way and I got the know-how. To be all I can be and more...

I walk on water

But I ain't no Jesus

I walk on water

But only when it freezes

Why are expectations so high?

Is it the bar I set?

My arms, I stretch, but I can't reach

A far cry from it, or it's in my grasp, but as

Soon as I grab, squeeze

I lose my grip like the flyin' trapeze

Into the dark I plummet, now the sky's blackenin'

I know the mark's high, butterflies rip apart my stomach

Knowin' that no matter what bars I come with

You're gonna harp, gripe, and

That's a hard Vicodin to swallow, so I scrap these

As pressure increases like khakis

I feel the ice cracking, because

I walk on water

But I ain't no Jesus

I walk on water (shit)

But only when it freezes

It's the curse of the standard, that the first of the Mathers disc set

Always in search of the verse that I haven't spit yet

Will this step just be another misstep

To tarnish, whatever the legacy, love or respect

I've garnered?

The rhyme has to be perfect, the delivery flawless

And it always feels like I'm hittin' the mark

'Til I go sit in the car, listen and pick it apart

Like, "This shit is garbage!"

God's given me all this, still I feel no different regardless

Kids look to me as a god, this is retarded

If only they knew, it's a facade and it's exhaustive

And I try not to listen to nonsense

But if you bitches are tryin' to strip me of my confidence

Mission accomplished

I'm not God-sent

Michael Patrick Kelly – Wonders (Official Video) Ft. Rakim

I know, I know

That you can’t see your tomorrow today

Will you let go, let go?

Can I hold you, can I make it feel okay?

You’re coming alive, coming alive

Cry a tear of joy, cry a tear of pain

You’re coming alive, coming alive

Beauty’s gonna wipe the fear away

I see wonders, wonders in a broken world

Hidden under, under, underneath the dirt

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Getting stronger for every boy and girl

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

So deep in doubt

And I know just how you feel in that place

But take a look around

There’s a million little sparks of a golden age

We’re coming alive, coming alive

Cry a tear of joy, cry a tear of pain

We’re coming alive, coming alive

Beauty’s gonna wipe the fear away

I see wonders, wonders in a broken world

Hidden under, under, underneath the dirt

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Getting stronger for every boy and girl

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

Rakim:

Can you see what I'm seeing?

Or are you distracted by the poverty stricken streets and deep depression that we in?

I see survivors of the worst conditions to be in.

You see deceiving the demons,

the death and the grieving.

No place to raise a seed in,

but the rose still grows through the crack left in the cement.

Just as pleasant as Eden where wonders succeed in.

And greed and oppression's the reason people unite, even give their life,

expressing what they believe in.

I see wonders, wonders in a broken world

Hidden under, under, underneath the dirt

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Getting stronger for every boy and girl

Wonders, wonders in a broken world

Tell me, do you see what I see?

I see wonders all around the world

Signs and wonders all around the world

I see wonders all around the world

Signs and wonders

Tell me, do you see what I see?

Le céramiste Kamel Ould Ramoul - 2009

It's easy to lose your way in the twisting corners of Barcelona's Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter). The narrow streets and medieval facades make this a maze you won't mind getting lost in. This central, original part of Barcelona juxtaposes historic architecture with modern commercialism. Merchants of every kind can be found around each corner. I don't doubt it was much the same when these buildings were put up.

As with any attraction in this spectacular city, these streets can get busy. Teeming hoards of tourists trample the cobblestones at almost all hours. Luckily there are many side streets to nip down to take a photo with less human elements.

"Thinking of a master plan

'Cause ain't nothin' but sweat inside my hands

So I dig into my pocket, all my money is spent

So I dig deeper, but still coming up with lint"

I had an idea earlier while listening to Eric B & Rakim's "Paid In Full". I didn't really get the shot that I really wanted, but it'll do.

wonders who is going to protect krev and rakim from me?

the after Rez Day Party Veg.

Freestyle, painted in Honor of the Homie Crisis AKB, at the bomb shelter in 1997. "Krylons". I was just trying to big up one of the original master blasters in the Twin Cities. I had found at this time how quickly the next generation can forget some true pioneers in the game. Atleast, for the Twin Cities. Crisis was the original all city graff bomber of the Twin Cities. Whereas, I might have been hitting the freeways and bridges, he was hitting damn near anything and everything he could get on. He was the first real Rooftop Pioneer. Having some influences from Chi-Town, he had seen some things that weren't common for people like me, from the West Coast and not only had he started it here but he was doing it pretty hardcore. He was also the first Twin Cities writer to use Phantom Caps or Fixatives. His style of tagging was real unique too. Where I was from and from the era I started in, tags were generally unconnected and super legible. (i/e CHAKA, etc....) He had this style of tagging that was just so on point. His letters would start and finish in the next letter, making them connect. He used to and still does this with his piece letters too. Around this time, he had left to go to Atlanta. I'm sure a lot of writers in ATL could tell you how he would kill shit on the Throw up level on the Atlanta streets. Even back in the day, I used to school people on who did what, where and when and who was first. Crisis was usually tops on a lot of those lists. I may not have any knowledge prior to 1989 but for the most part, I saw it all. Crisis was also one of the decision makers that put me down in AKB. Prior to myself, I had only known of about 7 other writers in the crew. There was Self, Oro, Res, Waks, Wesu, True 54 and Crisis. By the time I was put down, Oro was gone, Res was pretty much retired and Waks and Wesu were pretty much not active. So, there was basically 4 of us killing shit on the regular. Prior to being put down, it was cool because I used to tag a spot, then they would tag the spot and vice versa. It was really cool. It was like we were trying to communicate to each other. Till finally one day when Self ran into me in uptown. I was all G'd up West Coast style (Khaki suited and Booted) with a custom embroidered L.A. Kings hat on with my crew and EROS One written on the side. I was such a stand out for the area, that he thought for sure I was a cop. I laugh about it nowadays because I seriously had to look like a complete outcast in this city at the time. Even to this day, noone has ever really picked up that West Coast swagger we used to have and rocked it right. There are little bits and pieces of that style that gets mixed up in the local styles and culture but not like it used to be in the 80's. More of the original Midwest style comes from Chicago with writers like Crisis, etc..... I remember getting in Hip Hop debates with these guys, especially Crisis back in the day, about who was the best rappers out. I was all NWA and Ice-T and these guys were like, KRS one and Rakim. I hadn't even heard of KRS one at the time and after a few listens to it from the boys, I still didn't get it. I just couldn't relate to what he was talking about. I was just too biased to what I was hearing on the West Coast. Of course now, KRS one is the shit and really put it down but that just goes to show you how different ones perspective can be. I got mad love and respect for the Homeboy Crisis and recently he came up here and visited and we were able to rock out a quick production. I hope we can get together and do it again sometime, like we did back in the day, for old times sake!

My latest ukiyo-e stencil graff. I'm getting more adventurous. Records pictured:

-It takes a nation of millions to hold us back- Public Enemy

-Follow the leader- Eric B and Rakim

-By all means necessary- Boogie Down Productions

All three of these records came out in 1988. I didn't include any Run DMC simply because "tougher than leather" doesn't have that iconic of a cover.

Wow, rap was actually good once.

Just at the library trying to pick up a few bits of information. I was talking to someone earlier about a few things and I decided to hit the library and try to read up on them.

I was in the project management area, but I eventually got sidetracked by some of the photography books.

The one and only, Rakim.

Takin' a moment to view his legacy. As he says best, "Don't Sweat the Technique".

EDITED PHOTO: The CD was colorized and I added in the hearts and stripes. I did all the editing on "June 3, 2021". I used two programs to do the editing. I used "PhotoPad Image Editor" for the colorization on the CD and I used "Paint" for the hearts and stripes. Before I done the colorization, I inverted the photo to change the color of the pavement. The original photo was vertical. I changed it to horizontal. This was a "Rakim" CD that I seen outside on the street. I picked up the CD to see who was on it. I sampled "Rakim" on "YouTube" to see what he sounded like. It was lousy hip hop. I did NOT like it at all. I have the hearts in the photo to make it look pretty and interesting. It was NOT out of love for "Rakim".

Looked better before the white but every days a school day...
