From Ruby Beach yesterday to Rialto Beach today. Love these Washington state beaches.

Something different from the usual mountains, lakes, rivers, waterfalls and tree images I generally post.

Thank you for those of you who frequently grace my pages with your wonderful comments, faves and continual support. Much appreciated.

I'm going to be away for awhile. Road trip for some family time. Have a wonderful week.

One of the summer shoots we had with my beautiful friend Nefeli. We are located in one of the many ancient places we have in Preveza, full of ruins and history. In this shot we have used a golden reflector to give that warm light. Hope you like it.

...a tweak or two post process...stronger colour. Different angle, think i prefer this one.

Are you in for a tip? After finding the right location, the big challenge was catching the right storm, with enough water action to get this frame. Shooting with 1200mm lens with the 40mph winds is an adventure by itself! But we will touch up on that some other time. After I settled down and dialed in all my settings all I had to do is to shoot in a burst mode to capture enough waves for the final blend. TIP: after catching enough waves, all you have to do is pick the best frames and after layering them in Photoshop, select all of them and change the blend mode to “lighten”. That will bring all the water to be visible in the same time having this dramatic effect. It would be nice and much easier to capture all of this in one frame but unfortunately our side of the lake never gets that dramatic. Having snow and some birds in the final frame were just a cherry on a cake :) What do you think?

A Three-toed Box Turtle (Terrapene carolina triunguis) from my neighborhood in Angelina County, Texas.

This individual had the prettiest shell I've seen on a three-toed. For I second I did a double take thinking I had found T. ornata.

Taken while on a walk around the San Diego Botanic Garden.

Macro Mondays - Radiant

This is the top of a small, but fun, single led lamp powered by 3 AA batteries. The clear perspex heart sits at the top of a 'spring-style' stem and when it's switched on the light radiates around the sides of the heart shape creating a red glow!! I bought this a number of years ago from Ikea!!

Peterhead Harbour.

A quick solo mission, which is a bit of a rarity for my Light Painting missions the last few years. I wanted to try out a new bit of kit I built recently, it should help make the process a little more self sufficient and am happy to report that it all worked a treat with this simple shot.

DSC06192

One of the most memorable sunset shot with MattyD90 who met James whom I missed.

Northern lights over the mud hills of the Coppermine River, south of Kugluktuk, Nunavut.

Deep red coloured rose with a fantastic fragrance.

We drove up to Flagstaff to see the changing colors, and what a cool trip this was. It was chilly, foggy, misty, and dreary, but at the same time, it was a nice break from the desert heat.

I just love the diversity of climates and temperatures in Arizona, particularly why I moved here
