dude, check out the box of scary dolls sitting in front of the houseboat. sometimes I just don't want to know.
Although this location has radically changed since the photo was taken almost 40 years ago, there are still some features in it that readily identify the location.

royalld: It is somewhat quirky that all of my shoes are Crocs; except for a pair of funeral/wedding shoes and a pair of running shoes. I am always barefooted when at home, so I keep a pair of Crocs near each entry door.

I really don't know what's at work here--maybe (however remotely) it has something of the "equivalence" spoken of by Alfred Stieglitz and Minor White; more likely, though, I think some sort of resonant defect in my own perception (even if, technically, the two are not mutually exclusive). Nevertheless, the moment I saw this, it grabbed my eye in a profound way and I could not shake it--this is the first shot of many I took, the subsequent shots all all a result of my own insecurity and all substantially if not entirely ineffective versions. So there you are: one of a handful of conceptually similar photographs I have made that have little if any definable subject matter nor any clear or coherent story to tell and yet to me, at least, they have a power over me I cannot easily defy. Anyone know a good neurologist?
