Tibetan Buddhist monks during debate hour in the evening at the Dalai Lama Temple in McLeoganj, Himachal.
This is a Tibetan tradition in which pairs of monks - one standing and the other sitting - debate Buddhist philosophy to increase their knowledge and understanding of the subject. The standing monk loudly asks a question and claps his hand, while the sitting monk answers the question. Though the debate is a scene of loud noises, it happens in a jovial atmosphere with palpable fun and laughter.
