The cottage on the far side was known as Queen Victoria's Tea Room and later as the Princess's Tea Room after Queen Victoria's granddaughter who married the owner of Mar Lodge at the time.

This chapel was once at the heart of the Royal Victoria Military Hospital, which stretched for a quarter of a mile - the world's longest building when it was completed - along the shores of Southampton Water. The hospital opened in 1863 and treated military personnel from across the British Empire. It was in operation for nearly 100 years, including during the Boer War, and World Wars I and II. The hospital building was demolished in 1966, leaving only the chapel. The huge site is now open to the public as the Royal Victoria Country Park.
HMS Warrior is a 40-gun steam-powered armoured frigate built for the Royal Navy. Warrior was Britain’s first iron-hulled, armoured battleship and was launched in 1860 at a time of empire and Britain’s dominance in trade and industry. Warrior was the pride of Queen Victoria’s fleet.
Powered by steam and sail, she was the largest, fastest and most powerful warship of her day and had a lasting influence on naval architecture and design.

he Queen’s View in Highland Perthshire overlooks Loch Tummel and is said to have been named after Queen Victoria, following her visit to the area in 1866.
The Queen’s View Visitor Centre lies at the eastern edge of Loch Tummel and is surrounded by part of the Tay Forest Park. As well as a stunning viewpoint overlooking the loch and beyond to the iconic Schiehallion, the area offers a range of woodland walks suitable for all abilities.
One of the most photographed areas in Scotland, Queen Victoria is said to have remarked that the spectacular view was named after her, when she visited the area in 1866. However, it has also been suggested that the view was in fact named after King Robert the Bruce’s wife, Queen Isabella of Scotland, over 550 years earlier.

The bronze equestrian statue on the Right Hand Side of this picture may not look that exciting nowadays, but this statue caused a real stir when it was first revealed. It is a statue of Queen Victoria by Baron Carlo Marochetti (1805-1867). It was unveiled in 1854. It commemorates the Queen Victoria's visit to Glasgow in 1849.
It’s the first equestrian statue of a woman in the UK. Huge crowds were there for its’ unveiling. It’s provoked a lot of debate about balance, as Victoria is sitting sidesaddle, and scale, as I believe she is shown a bit larger in proportion than the horse, to save her figure being dwarfed by her steed.

A little rain at first and then the sun came out on Ladies View, a scenic point along the N71 portion of the Ring of Kerry, in Killarney National Park, Ireland. The name apparently stems from the admiration of the view given by Queen Victoria's ladies-in-waiting during their 1861 visit.

Named for the British Monarch Queen Victoria, the Victoria Crowned Pigeon is without doubt a royal bird. Its dusty blue-grey feathers may remind one of the pigeons found on any city street, but the Crowned Pigeon's elegant blue lace crest, scarlet eyes, and rakish black mask are unlike anything you'll find pecking around in the city park. Add in the fact that this largest of all pigeons is nearly the size of a turkey, and you know you're seeing something special.

My first attempt at firework photography, and what better to try it out tonight at Liverpool Pier Head, even better the Cunard ship Queen Victoria is on a 2 day visit, was not sure about this image when i first saw it, its like two separate pictures, but this was due to the severe brightness of the fireworks hence just a couple of seconds exposure was needed.
For many years, No.1 Church Street used to be the warehouse and shop for Cave Austin’s grocers, before becoming an Antiques Centre, and more recently the heath and beauty spa ‘Quakersmill.’
The Clock was put up on the 20th June 1887, to mark the Golden Jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria. There was a very bad fire in the early hours of the morning of 20th June 1908, which badly damaged the warehouse and the neighbouring doctor’s surgery.
The clock was also damaged and the works fell to the ground. The casing was not too badly damaged and the clock was given new workings and restored to its original state.
The Queen Victoria Photo bombed....... Never again when I take a Photograph will I say 'Watch the Birdie'!
