I opened up a can of Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilis, great with black beans and cheese), and was quite surprised to see a whole, peeled tomato bobbing happily at the top of the can.

It's about an inch wider than the Sunkey, but about the same height and depth. No channel display, but a green light when it's on, and a red "standby light when it's off. It hooks up the same way the Sunkey did: antenna to the "in" port, TV to the "out", and plug it in. The plug's a lot better, too; just a regular two-prong instead of some giant 2" x 2" cube.
An added feature: channel up/down buttons on top of the box. The remote can be programmed to power both the box and TV, and it's chunkier and more substantial than the Sunkey's wafer-thin unit.
A hopeful sign of Digital Stream's confidence in its products: the website and phone number on a sticker on top of the box! (Sunkey never did that.) Let us hope.
So Niel's theory was that the Barbie heads on cheap bodies were factory rejects and I agree. You might wonder why since their faces certainly look better (perfect even, in case of the girl on the right) than some of the screwed up dolls we have been seeing on the store shelves (anyone still have that pic of the royally screwed up Fashionista that showed up on Ebay??).
Obviously Mattel's quality control failed to reject a lot of messed up faces.. because they only reject dolls with messed up hair. Both these girls have thinner than usual hair and the rooting pattern is a little bit erratic so here's my theory, again: the heads jam the rooting machine, or perhaps are dropped out of it due to some mistake/hiccup. This either results in hair too thin (they can't really go over the head again) or once the rooting's been interrupted, there is no easy way to get them back inside. Kinda like if you were printing something and the paper got yanked out, it's not easy to finish or print over it and have it line up perfectly. It's much easier to discard it and start over.
As to how they ended up being their own clones well that's an easy one, rejects are meant to be recycled but some enterprising factory worker turned them around to someone who could put them to use.. or even had the clone bodies made at the same factory. It's not rare for chinese factories to be making the original thing during the day, knockoff by night. :D

Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Construction Branch conducted the Construction Quality Management of Contractor’s Course, Feb. 18 – 19.
Shawn Soltis and John Pontus instructed 24 students through the two-day course. The course offers students the opportunity to satisfy the CQMC training requirements specified for contractors to compete for USACE construction contracts.
Students must achieve a score of 70 percent or higher to receive the certification which is valid for five years.
All of the students in the classed passed the course, and six of them scored 100 percent.

These blind flanges are used for the hydrostatic testing of our pieces of equipment. Every single piece of impervious graphite or silicon carbide process equipment that leaves the GAB Neumann workshop is hydrostatically tested for strength and leaks. The test involves filling the vessel with water and pressurization of the vessel to the specified test pressure.
