The sin of King Nimrod, in the Old Testament, was to build a tower high enough to reach into Heaven so that he could access God.
The myth goes that as the Tower of Babel reached a great height, God was displeased and was concerned that humanity as a unified people would be capable of great things by their working together. So "He" caused great confusion in peoples' minds and sent them running in divergent directions. This confusion caused them to splinter their singular language into dozens of different tongues, from which sprang many nations and differing cultures of the world.
The arrogance of modern technology and science seeks to replace god ( God ) with it's own singular omnipotence, to reach heights unforeseen where every single aspect of life can be known and predicted. That would qualify as 'omniscience' to me, a quality usually reserved for the Biblical God. It's richly ironic how science works SO hard to deny the existence of God while doing everything it can to take 'his' place.

Bowtie Arch appears to be more of a pothole, but, as such, it does qualify to be called an arch. There is no question, however, as to its spectacular setting, carved out of colorful entrada sandstone so prevalent throughout Utah. Late day light here brings out the marvelous coloration of the surrounding cliffs and their "desert varnish" (manganese and iron oxides which coat the rocks and appear as dark vertical striations). Located within several miles of Arches National Park, Bowtie is located off Route 279, a very scenic road bounded by the Colorado River on one side and towering sandstone cliffs on the other. Due to its out of the way location and the moderately strenuous hike involved, this arch is relatively unknown and lightly visited - a shame, because it's one of my favorites in this area.

This certainly qualifies as a part of the gear head series. There could be no other title for this image. I had to track down the actual name because I have watched fewer than 10 seconds of it; I have to protect my standards. This machinery is for the ages and is a real puzzlement! I ought to go again and shoot a wider shot to figure out how some of the gear head series of implements were used. Obviously, some of the castings were blown out during use and I bet it could used some lube! A rock or two in bevel gears can do that. I wonder how long it served afterward? This was a tight composition that I fancied but explained no signs of it's usage. It is a puzzlement and needs further investigating.
This April marked the reopening of the Lohr/McIntosh Agricultural Heritage Center and I decided to travel the access to Mac Lake... but then I turned and snagged shots from the implements for gear heads. I got hung up on my sidetrack project on that day. This implement is pretty old, judging from the rust.
The terrain slopes down to McIntosh Lake in northwest Longmont. The loop trail around the lake is accessible from the ag center. I walked down to the inlet later to search for the mink but got spawning carp? and mallards.
Highway #66 seemed overloaded with early spring travelers to the hills, probably not knowing summer might not arrive until July in Rocky. There are several exhibits inside the red barn waiting for momma's explanations to the kiddies. All the kiddies want is a cool soda pop as long as they have to walk. Sunday offered them a look at a new lamb. Careful, the chickens and bunnies were under foot; a delight to the kiddies no doubt. This is a grand place for families.

This status allows them to buy second-hand, damaged and decomissioned Phayze Fructifiation, inc. products at much lower prices than other non-FAE companies, work their particular brand of magic on them, and then sell them at absurd profit margins to parties that are unable to achieve the same special trade status or pay FAE taxes on mobile frames.
For this reason, Reveniens is frequently brought up in conversations that begin with talk of the Cluster's more unsavory elements, such as pirates, unlicensed mercenaries and, of course, the Etton Conglomerate.
The Nagini were built primarily for space combat, housing a large number of small verniers within the segments of the tail which provide extreme mobility in microgravity. On land, however, they are almost as effective and can use those verniers in concert with rapid tail movements to propel themselves at shocking speeds.

Originally, this was meant to be a modified version of my Alfar frame posted previously, but by the time I finished modifying it there was basically nothing left of the original, except a few parts in the head - oh, and they're both about the same height, so there's that. ^^;
"Naga", I discovered, is an interesting word. Most depictions of Naga that I found were female, which is odd because "Naga" actually refers to the males, and "Nagini" to females. I think the confusion comes from the very similar "Lamia" of Greek myth - a woman transformed into a baby-eating snake monster. Cool, right? This is why I use mythical names for my mechs - I learn a lot while wiki-walking to find the perfect name for a build. ^^
Anyway, ever since building Arcee a while back I've wanted to try building more "feminine" mechs, but I really wanted to avoid the cheesy fembot look. The snake tail helps to convey a long, lithe body, and gave me a nice cinching effect at the waist. Slim forearms and a narrow 1-stud torso enhance the effect.
Yea, that time of year where I am suffering racing withdrawal symptoms. My crew chief looks on and looks a bit concerned while an old friend and chief of grid says hi.
