The Amtrak qualification train is north of New Haven Jct with the 406 F40PH and 713 Phase III P32 ACDM on each end. Amtrak ran two trains today to familiarize crews with the new route for the Ethan Allen Express Extension between Rutland and Burlington.

The purpose of this train is to qualify Amtrak trains into Grand Central Terminal, in case something were to happen to the Empire Corridor connection into Penn Station. The train is seen passing through Spuyten Duyvil with P42DC #87 and P32AC-DM #710.
