Mazar-e-Quaid (Urdu: مزار قائد), also known as the Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum, is the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam (Great Leader) Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, as well as his sister, Māder-e Millat (Mother of the Nation) Fatima Jinnah, and Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. Located in the Jamshed Quarters neighborhood of Karachi, the mausoleum (Urdu/Persian/Arabic: mazār), completed in the 1960s, is an iconic symbol of Karachi throughout the world. It is one of most favoured tourist destination of foreign tourists visiting Karachi.[1]
The Mausoleum building was designed by famous architect Yahya Merchant. .[2] It is made of white marble with curved Moorish arches and copper grills reset on an elevated 54 square meters platform.[3] The mausoleum is located in a 53 hectare park and the size of the building is 75x75m on ground and 43m high, built on an 4m high platform. In each wall is placed an entrance. Fifteen successive fountains lead to the platform from one side and from all sides terraced avenues lead to the gates. The cool inner sanctum reflects the green of a four-tiered crystal chandelier gifted by the People's Republic of China.[4] Around the mausoleum is a park fitted with strong beamed spot-lights which at night project light on the white mausoleum.

Son of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid. He also plays Marvel in the first Hunger Games. I want to thank him for signing my magazine. He needed to go but was kind enough to sign a few more for his fans. What a great guy.

Dennis Quaid testified before a U.S. House panel about how his newborn twins almost died when they were given an overdose of the wrong drug. In his case, the drug maker was aware that there was confusion over their product's label but the company never recalled the drugs with the confusing labels. Drug and medical device makers are claiming they cannot be sued if their products have received FDA approval. Public Citizen and the Quaids are challenging that argument in court.

U.S. Ambassador Richard Olson underscored the United States' strong commitment to wildlife conservation in Pakistan in his opening remarks at Wildlife Conservation Day in Pakistan, co-hosted by Quaid-I-Azam University. 80 students, activists, and government officials watched “Snow Leopard: Beyond the Myth,” a documentary filmed in Pakistan by Pakistani filmmaker Nisar Malik. After the film, they participated in a panel discussion with Pakistan wildlife experts to discuss wildlife conservation, human-animal conflict, animal trafficking, and solutions.
“Wildlife trafficking affects all of us. Protecting wildlife means protecting our planet’s natural beauty for generations to come. But wildlife trafficking is also a national security issue, a public health issue, and an economic issue that is critical to countries and communities worldwide,” Ambassador Olson said before the film screening. “This film tells the snow leopard’s real story – a story that is ultimately true of all wildlife everywhere. It’s a story of interaction and, at times, conflict between humans and animals. This story demonstrates how a rare creature’s existence depends on sustained cooperation among local communities, organizations, the private sector, and government authorities,” he added.
Ambassador Olson announced two new sources of U.S. funding for wildlife conservation in Pakistan. The new USAID-funded program with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the Snow Leopard Trust that will improve cooperation among Bhutan, India, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, and Pakistan on snow leopard conservation and climate change adaptation in Asia’s high mountain landscapes. Second, Ambassador Olson announced that the Ambassador’s Fund in Pakistan will focus on wildlife conservation projects in local communities.
The United States and Pakistan have a rich history of cooperation on wildlife conservation, including the 2006 transfer of an abandoned snow leopard cub from Northern Pakistan to the Bronx Zoo in New York with the cooperation of the Government of Pakistan, the U.S. Wildlife Conservation Society, and the World Conservation Union, among others. Wildlife Conservation Day marks the start of a global campaign announced by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to bring wildlife trafficking and conservation issues to the forefront by increasing bilateral and regional policy dialogues around wildlife; encouraging governments to strengthen domestic laws and increase resources to combat international wildlife trade; using social media outlets to spread the word; and engaging and highlighting civil society efforts to tackle wildlife challenges.
