MoMA PS1 and iconic record shop Other Music present the third annual Come Together: Music Festival and Label Market, offering live performances, film, workshops, and panels that celebrate the interactive ecosystem of local and international music communities, and a label market featuring more than 75 record labels. This season’s expanded event is presented across two days, including additional live programming and extended hours. Part of MoMA PS1’s VW Sunday Sessions performance series, Come Together reasserts the central and essential role that communities play in both the creation and consumption of new sounds, recasting the fading record store experience for the current moment.

For me one of the loveliest songs to be heard in spring. As we have quite a number of them around where I live I frequently hear them in quadraphonics. A delightful way to enjoy a warm spring evening...not too far away now :)

This automobile from Weatherford, Texas is identical to the one used by Heights Funeral Home in Houston during the 1940s. The red leather upholstery, added during restoration during 1987 and '88, would not have been used while the car was employed for funeral service transportation. Although not authentic, air conditioning and a quadraphonic sound system were installed as well. With the original standard 351 cubic inch LaSalle Cadillac engine, this car remains highway operational at legal speeds.

Vancouver, British Columbia, 1960

1996

Video installation for one laser disk, one laser disk player, one video projector, with quadraphonic sound; duration of one rotation: 6:45 minutes

In Nu'tka Douglas masterfully weaves together images and sound in a fictionalized version of encounters between Spanish and English colonial forces, both vying for access to land in the settling of what is now British Columbia. using texts from Gothic literature, the artist evokes the eerie vastness of the land. Occasionally the imagery and emerge from the historical, literary and artistic fragments.
