Newman Smith High School senior, Jeffrey Hong, a student in the Science and Engineering Pathway, built a remote controlled quadcopter in a few weeks that can hover in place as well as take photographs. The flight plan for the quadcopter can bet set via computer as it has a GPS locator onboard. The project builds on topics covered in class. Hong has also familiarized himself with FAA rules regarding when, where and how high the device is permitted to fly.
