Finally got our granson Nicholas out for some DJI Spark quadcopter flying. It's AMAZING how fast, at 10 years old, he picked this up and was doing circles and figure 8's. Looking forward to getting him out again sometime.

Wow! What a difference a properly made frame makes.

This flies soooo much better than Mk2.

It takes off vertically instead of lurching to one side and is extremely stable - even in manual mode I am able to maintain a decent hover.

But the biggest difference noticeable to me is its performance in 'loiter' or GPS hold mode.

Mk1 fluctuated a lot, up/down and left/right....but Mk2 is rock solid - able to maintain its position very well. (that is how I got it to hover off the screen in the previous 'introduction' video. My estimate of battery life would be 12-15 minutes - which is good. (That is about double my little one from Jaycar). Mk1 frame was 700 size, & Mk2 frame is 500 size.

Now to attach my mobile phone and get some aerial footage.....

Video camera on the larger of two quadcopters Terry Slocum brought to the meeting. The blue camera mount he printed was an attempt to dampen the vibrations but he said it was only partially successful. Still and all a neat idea, yes?
