Like the wood duck in my previous image, the mandarin duck is not a waterfowl native to Europe, but originates from East Asia. Both species are related to each other, with no other "family members" in genus Aix. Funnily, in this small swimming pond in Bavaria where I captured both, three mandarin ducks were living with one wood duck in a "men's flat" 😄

All the photos I present were taken in the town of Taormina (Sicily);
I made photos related to "street photography";
I photographed people who, for the most part, I had never met before, I thank them for their sympathy and availability;
I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking down the street ... in search of fleeting moments ...
For some photographs I used a particular photographic technique at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production.

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate nella cittadina di Taormina (Sicilia);
ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “street photography”;
ho fotografato persone che, per la maggior parte, non avevo mai incontrato prima, le ringrazio per la loro simpatia e disponibilità;

New ferry to Quadra Island from Campbell River. During the day, 2 leave both ports for the opposite side at the same time. In the evenings, they run every hour with one ferry being retired on the Quadra side for the night.
Hilary Stewart writes, "The first ferry service to make more or less regular crossings started in 1949. The privately owned 38-food Victory II carried [12] passengers and ran on diesel fuel and a provincial government subsidy. Ten years later, she was replaced by the 70-food Uchuk, which could carry up to a [100] passengers--but no cars. It was another [10] years before the islanders got a car ferry. Built for the run and proudly named the Quadra Queen I, she carried 16 cars and 129 passengers. The ensuing years brought larger and more sophisticated vessels as Quadra's population increased.
"Islanders have a love/hate relationship with their ferry that depends on the time of day or year, the number of logging trucks using it, the overloads in tourist season and the time of the last sailing (that may not allow you to see the end of a lengthy movie or theatre performance in 'the River'). Plus, there is the inconvenience of dangerous cargo runs when no passengers are allowed, and the vagaries of the weather."
