Constructed in 2570 BCE. The section on top is part of the original sheathing. The pyramids were covered in a smooth layer of granite or high quality limestone which made the pyramid shine in the sunlight.
Taking sharp photos while on the back of a moving camel proved to be more of a challenge than I anticipated. This was the view as we rounded the desert into the Giza necropolis.
It may be a crude bulletin board with Post-It notes, but it's a start. Identifying donors and working the pyramid. We will build a skate park.
Though Khafre's pyramid is shorter than his father Khufu's nearby Great Pyramid, Khafre made up for it by building at a higher elevation.

There was a pyramid structure somewhere in central London which represented the lattice of a diamond.. I can't remember where exactly.
The south-west corner of the Bent Pyramid. Whilst still subject to the attention of stone robbers, Here it is mainly the facing blocks that have been quarried away, rather than both facing & core masonry, as tat the other corners of the pyramid.
Things like a Citrine Quartz sphere or a glass pyramid, snow, amethyst, green calcite and being outdoors about seventy feet up in the air are all uniquely something on their own. What happens when you put them all together?
I drove out to Pyramid Lake on the Paiute Reservation with the intention of exploring the area, taking a few photos and camping for the night. I forgot this was the day that 40,000 people would be driving up the same road to Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert a bit up the road. I was caught up in an amazing caravan of every type vehicle known to man. I got to Red Bay around mid day and the light was harsh but I took a few digital photos and got wet. This is some beautiful landscape with a strong natural mystic

You see pictures of them, see them on TV but when you see them with your own eyes, the sheer scale and magnitude of them is overwhelming. The perfection in these great pyramids, built with simple tools but with a vast army of builders is just too much to get my head around!
