The Pyramid, Brightling Church
(Mad Jack Fuller's Mausoleum)
Fuller's tomb is a pyramid, 25 feet high, standing in the churchyard of Brightling parish Church. It was constructed fully 23 years before Fuller's death in 1834. Local legend says that Fuller was buried sitting up, wearing a top hat, and holding a glass of claret in his hand.
During Mad Jacks era, the famous artist, Turner painted a number of country scenes of Sussex, these were painted on and around Jack Fullers Estate.
I love the effect when you look up at this building. Because of it's pyramid shape it looks way higher then it actually is.
A closer look at the work-in-progress on my current mural. At this point, Bastet is rendered in graphite pencil. I'll add a transparent gray wash to her once I have her features the way I want them. The pyramid, landscape and sky are all done in watercolor
The Pyramid vest from Patricia Werner's Dazzling Knits. The main yarn is Stacy Charles Baci in black, colors are an assortment of worsted weight yarns. I messed up -- for our size I should have made the larger pyramids, so I compensated by making wider side panels. I still love the finished vest. Will most likely not add any kind of closure and wear it as is.
